Hi all.

Just in case you were wondering why I took a prolonged absence, it had to do with the "was forced upon me" deal life hands out occasionally. That is, computer related troubles...

i.e. I actually touched the damn thing.

Well, it was a big overhaul: New vid card, new sound card, new processor, new motherboard...it seemed like a good idea at the time..

I'm not sure wha the hell went wrong, but this comp just didn't agree with what I gave 'er. So, after three weeks, here I am, now only running at half cpacity, but able now to catch up.

Now that I"ve made my excuse, off I go!

I usually go down to the local library every other day or so to use the computers to check my email and any of the various message boards, sites, and blogs I keep up with. Okay, I go there to surf the net, but today I had to send someone something I wrote, so I typed it up at home and saved it to a disc and walked out the door. I got to the library, opened my document, and copy and pasted it into an email. When I was all done, I took out my disc and began walking out, but stopped to read the newspaper for about 5 minutes.

When I got outside, I realized that I didn't have my floppy disc anymore. I must have either dropped it or set it down somewhere on my way out. This wouldn't be a problem, except that I realized that there were a few hentai pictures that I had neglected to delete from it. Fortunately my name isn't on the disc, nor in the text file I had saved on it, but still, if anyone saw me using that disc, and then checked it after finding it, they'd be in for the shock of their lives.

I didn't want to go to the desk and ask for it, because I've already forgotten discs there in the past, and I didn't want to look foolish. And besides, if they had found it and checked to see what was on it, or if they didn't have it but found it later on, I'd be linked with it and I could run the risk of getting suspended from the computers (even though I never looked at any porn or hentai on them).

This follows a terrible, terrible year where I lost at least a half dozen floppy discs, two or three hats, some gloves and some CDs, not to mention constantly misplacing my cell phone, forgetting my wallet in various places and going into a panic over that three or four times, plus locking my keys in may car four or five times as well.

Does anyone else have a problem with forgetting things? I think I just have too much clutter in my life, and I'm not very organized these days, but overall I think I just have too much running through my mind all the time. I'm constantly worrying about things, and never really sure whether or not I have everything that I need on me at any given moment. Hence, I'm prone to obsessively checking and rechecking my pockets every 5 minutes, but that doesn't seem to help me, because I'm still having screw-ups like this. This probably won't cost me, but it has the potential to, and one of these days, I won't be so lucky.

Sympathy, comments, stories, whatever. I just haven't started a post in a while.
