  It's my Bday....
Posted by: Harie Krauzer - 10-14-2005, 03:46 AM - Forum: General Chat - Replies (42)

Another year under the belt, 22. This year I'm a ballerina dress. But if you think I'm going to wear one even mockingly in dialouge you're nuts.... as if most people aren't already in one form or another. Though I must say being on October 13 (if anyone else is on a diiferent time zone or something) is rather fun on fridays. Back in my highschool days there was a chance I'd get off on Columbus day.

Other then that there isn't too much I can do with being 22 besides what I was already able to do.

  A cartoon rant.
Posted by: milleniumenjimon - 10-12-2005, 01:41 AM - Forum: General Chat - Replies (31)

First off I love animeshon - er, Japanimation if you will since the word means "animation" and I find it redundent to use the word a bit - and I have a whole stack of Japanese animation in my DVD collection and once in a while I sit down (faithfully) to watch whatever comes on TV. But of course I have other tastes too, such as animation from the states and *GASP* other countries too (I still miss Cybersix, hooked after the werewolve episode and Fox takes it off). As a devoted watcher of all things animated I have my own favorites, like the original Batman: TAS that ran during the '90s and Batman Beyond along with Spiderman (even the unlimited series) and as I am writing this I am waiting for Xiaolin Showdown to come on and waiting for the new Powerpuff Girls Z to come in November.

What am I getting at? Simple.

JAPANESE ANIMATION IS NOT THE END BE ALL OF EVERYTHING INKED!

As much as it pains me I am swamped by many so called "fans" yelling at me about Shaman King this and Sailor Moon that and saying they were here since the beginning, well I like those shows but I still love my Digimon (and Monster Rancher, Pixie ^n\./n^) and I like these new shows that have potental like the Winx Club (yes, it is a magical girl show, but it is like sailor moon I have to wade through the crappy second season to the kick ass third season) and the object of my new obestion(SP?) Xiaolin Showdown, and while I did once love the other shows "fans" kind of killed them for me. I do not know where does these guess get the idea that "anime" is the greatest thing ever made but it is not, okay maybe but only the good stuff (clutches his copy of Ninja Scroll). Even in Japan they have dubbed shows of OUR stuff, which I am despertly searching for a copy of a dubbed Japanese Tiny Toons Adventure  .

I watched the small documentory of "anime" on the animatrix and they were talking about how this stuff like Akira and such and such was shown in small groups of collage kids that bootlegged it from Chinatown, or such and such, and I remember how I would sit down in front of the TV watching Sci-Fi channel's Saturday Anime and waiting for my favorites, Lily C.A.T., Tank Police and Eightman After which made me think that these "fans" are just some sort of leeches that goes with the tide. If it is "in" they lach on and ruin it for the rest of us then leave when it is "out", never truly experincing anything.

Now if you excuse me, I have a Katnappe/Kimiko fic to write... After Batman and Transformers.

[STATUS: Still searching for a copy of Demon City Shinjuku and a life size Miyako doll.]

  Ideas, ideas, ideas...
Posted by: The Reclaimer - 10-10-2005, 06:55 AM - Forum: General Chat - Replies (11)

I've got all these really cool ideas, pretty much one for each a movie, book, game and maybe cartoon. But I have little interest or motivation in developing them. Further more, and projects I seem to start just get lost. I had some cool lemons in the works, but lack of seeing Digimon in action, its all kinda faded. I want to start with something new and fresh...but I'm not sure what to do yet. I've got a gew ideas but I don't know where I'm going quite yet...

Basically this is about lack of motivation lol.

Ten thousand fists in the air
Posted by: Wisemon - 10-08-2005, 12:37 AM - Forum: General Chat - Replies (5)

Here comes another review that Amazon wishes they had. I've had Disturbed's new album, "Ten Thousand Fists," for a few weeks now, and I'm ready to review it. I'll start with this; in 2005, Disturbed has done what Audioslave and Foo Fighters could not do: they have topped their previous albums.

1. "Ten Thousand Fists" 10/10, Great energetic opener.
2. "Just Stop" 8/10, Brought down by odd lyrics, but otherwise good.
3. "Guarded" 9/10, The free track, good, like a harder "Remember."
4. "Deify" 10/10, A song about Bush, and it ain't complimentary.
5. "Stricken" 9/10, The first single, a lot like "Prayer."
6. "I'm Alive" 10/10, My personal favorite; it has amazing flow.
7. "Son of a Plunder" 9/10, Sounds like something from the first album.
8. "Overburdened" 8/10, A little on the slow side, but good after a while.
9. "Decadence" 8/10, A little too generic.
10. "Forgiven" 9/10, Catchy, a little too catchy.
11. "Land of Confusion" 9/10, Something different, a Genesis cover.
12. "Sacred Life" 9/10, "The war is far from over."
13. "Pain Redefined" 10/10, This one kicks ass.
14. "Avarice" 8/10, What's an Avarice?

A final farewell for my best friend
Posted by: Zephyr of Darkness - 10-07-2005, 05:59 AM - Forum: General Chat - Replies (40)

This is the ultimate rant. This beats all the other pains/ angers/ hatreds we could have felt.

A few months after my grandfather died, all in my family were depressed to death, so my mother brought him home to keep her company. He was a small thing that fitted in her hand, but soon grew into a fine adult that had a strong personality. We loved him dearly and he loved us back. When I came home late at night, he always waited for me and greeted me wagging his tail. He was the only one that really LOVED me. I had more that loved me, but their love was mixed with anger, interests and domination. He was the only whose love was pure. We took care of him as best as we could. He was not my blood, but for me he was my little brother, and he was like a son to my mother, too. We lived seven happy years together.
Two weeks ago, he started to eat less and less. Sometimes he does that, so we took no bigger care. The vet said he needed some studies, but he felt rather good belatedly, so we didn't really bother. Last Saturday, he stopped eating completely. We offered him all the food he went crazy for, to no success. Rapidly he started losing weight and getting weaker. We asked 2 vets this time, that kept giving him stuff he vomitted. Belatedly, he even vomitted the water. Last night, he starting vomitting lots of blood, so we called to 2 clinics that supposedly were open during 24 hours, unsuccessfully. Early in the morning, we called that asshole vet back when he was already in a shallow coma. He applied some shock treatment to him, but didn't survive it. Soon he gasped desperately and then stopped breathing. His tongue was a light purple as he pined away in my mother's arms.
I know everything in this world has to die, and that I'm not immortal either, but why?!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why did he have to die now, being only 7, that's about the half of the lifespan that dogs usually have?! (my previous dogs lived about 15). We took such a good care of him, and offered him all the commodities we could (which is one reason I have pretty few regrets, cuz I tried making him as happy as I could), so why did he have to die so young?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I've seen dogs that nobody gives a damn about, and also stray dogs, that live for so much than him. I'm devastated, so my mother.
.......I will still love him, and I'll always admire his strength, his beauty, his courage, his strong personality. I'll always be grateful to have shared seven years of my existance with sb so lovable. But I'll also feel very lonely when I'll go home this night and he won't be there to greet me anymore, knowing that I'll never see him again. Never, never, never again........
.......you know, when my grandpa died, I was mad at God not only for taking him away, but also for all that he suffered (he was more than a month in agony). But after all this time, I wanted to be friends with God again, but I doubt he wants to be friend with me....What costed Him to leave my doggy with us a few years longer?!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell costed Him?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not fair!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not fair!!!!!!!!!! Not fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a bit of a crush on Corina and Renee Roberts in my mind. But on occasion...I sit next to Bridget Verdant and think..."I wonder if she's a sex goddess underneath her round glasses and her being a wallflower?"

So a Japanese name is too fantasy-esque but L-yv'rn is okay?
Posted by: milleniumenjimon - 10-04-2005, 11:30 AM - Forum: General Chat - Replies (6)

Okay I was at this BBS where it supports a shoujo-ai/yuri couple for Kim Possible when the subject of a challange of a child from the future comes back into the past. The suggestions of names started and I came up with Miko because it means "beautiful child" and it rhymes with "Kigo" (the fandom's term of the couple) but it was too "Japanese-ish", perhaps it is my pride and ego talking but the names Cali, Alhyssuasa, Hr'vr-y and MorrganUlysseaThisNameIsTolkenRipoff is one hundred percent alright.

Perhaps it is my ego, but I thought the name fit the character a bit. Since it DOES rhymes with Kigo, which should aplease may Kigo fans and fit the character. Unless there is a better name that fit the character I really don't see the point of the dime store K.J.J. Polken names just to be "different" yet "same".

I hate when that happens, I swear it fit well.
