Alex looked at Melody and then at Tiff. "Melody, come here," he ordered. "Melody..." he said, but stopped, not knowing what he should tell the young elf. Once the girls were awake, he would walk over to Lillia and explain the situation, and how he was now planning on bringing his girls to his old master. He also asked her what they should do about Melody.

"I wouldn't feel right killing her. I suppose I could try a spell to erase her memory, but I don't know if Arkurus has any protection on his slaves' minds. I don't suppose you have any suggestions, Melody?"
Lillia looked at the girl and shrugged. "I...I dont know master. Im only a slave, I have never killed anyone before." She said softly. Although Lillia was impressive, as far as slaves went, she was still just a slave. How was she supposed to know what to do with Melody? Melody herself began to pale slightly, realizing what they were talking about, and yet said nothing and did not move. She did not want to die...but if Arkurus asked her a question then she had to answer him truthfully, there was no choice in it for her. And she couldnt lie to Alex either, that was also not a choice. So she kneeled down on the ground and awaited her sentencing.
Alex sighed and looked at Melody. I can't kill her. Even if I did, Arkurus would probably find out about it soon enough. He walked over to Melody, and crouched down. "Close your eyes and relax, Melody. I won't hurt you..." he said, and placed his hands on Melody's head, gently holding it. First he searched for barriers or any sort protective spells on the girl. Then, he searched if it was safe for him to attempt a small amnesia spell. "Just relax...."
Melody whimpered softly at first, but bit her lip to keep silent and allowed Alex to work on her. Inside her mind Alex did find a weak ward, or rather alert. It was not meant to stop him, but it would go off and do something if he altered her mind. Arkurus didnt want people brainwashing his slaves into assassins or spies, but also didnt have the time or patience to properly ward them all. So instead they were all rigged with an alarm, though how this alarm worked was a mystery. It might turn her hair purple, make her eyes green, or even kill her or wipe her mind completely.
Alex weighed his options. Either way Melody would somehow alert Arkurus that Alex was up to something. He continued to weigh his options before sighing, and closing his eyes, hoping for the best. Please don't die... he whispered as he cast the small amnesia spell, erasing it of the last few moments, and inserting false memories. The last thing she remembered was Alex kissing her, and her tiding up the room while he was gone. Then he returned, and left with Tiff and the others. That would be her memory, if this worked.
Suddenly Alex's false memory was wiped away, as was everything else, EVERYTHING. Memories of past events, both mundane and important, of how to move limbs, how to blink and even how to breath, all were wiped out. Melody gasped one last time and fell on her side, limp and basically dead, her heart having just stopped beating. Alex could, if he was quick enough, insert his own memories into her, those about how to breath and survive at least, but everything about the old Melody had just been cleanly wiped from the face of the earth. The ward was still in place, even then, though it was recharging and would not activate again for another minute or so. If Alex wanted to save this nobody, then he needed to do so quickly...then again, this was as painless a death as anyone could hope for.
"Melody!" Alex gasped, and he quickly grabbed her head in his hands, unwilling to let an innocent life die. He quickly cast another spell, trying to help her, trying to return her thoughts back to her. He atleast wanted her able to blink, breathe, and know other life important knowledge.

This raised a new question. Was Alex now forced to bring Melody along? Could he be able to get her out? What if Arkurus had some sort of spell on her preventing this?
Melody gasped as Alex's spell wrestled with the ward. Melody blinked and looked up at Alex, and she recognized him, and then forgot him. The ward still had her memories! It sucked them all up so that Arkurus could retrieve them later from her corpse, likely to find out who had tampered with his slave. But Alex was the master of magic, and although Arkurus was a formidable spell sword, he was no mage. The ward shattered and sent horrible pain wracking through Melody, who screamed at the top of her longs as her memories began to fall back into place, painfully shoved back. She gasped several times and began to hyperventilate, panicking badly, not understanding what was happening to her. Then the ward reset and remained silent. Melody had her memory, more or less, but if Alex tried to alter it again, the ward would reactivate, and it was not likely that she would survive a second round of that.
Alex quickly picked Melody up and looked at his girls. "Lillia, grab Neko. Tiff, can you help Sarah follow?" Alex asked as he held Melody bridal style and opened the door with a quick spell, looking around if there was anyone out there. The sooner they left, the better.
"W-Wait..." Melody said weakly. "Were am I going?" She asked, dazed and swooning, hardly able to think. Lillia picked Neko up and Tiff helped Sarah up and into a robe. The elven mage blushed at her new bust size as it stood out prominently where once she had been almost flat chested. They would follow him wherever he went.
