Jewl's mind was dark and confused. The knocking, the pounding in her skull. She shied from the sound but it was everywhere. She tried to focus, but could only barely make out June's features. "You..." she said softly, whispering in her own mind. Pain rolled and frothed around her like waves in a storm.

"Why...here..." She couldnt concentrate. June said something, words, sounds, meaningless. John had to focus and enter a trance like state to access June, but Jewl had no such ability, or even capability at the moment. She was barely conscious, bobbing in and out of reality. He head felt like it was being cleaved in half slowly with a bar of hot iron.

June was unable to relay the message, it was impossible, it would have been hard enough if Jewl were just asleep, but like this it was just not possible. The fever was blocking everything out, even Jewl could somehow hear and understand her words, she was in no state to make a proper response. Besides, she knew her father was watching over her, she trusted completely in his judgment.

(Lifes a bitch sometimes! o.0)
(well, I guess if she was a slut, she would be too easy... *sigh*)

"She's not responding." June stated.

Fucknuts. thought John. "I was afraid of this. Looks that fever i's reeking too much havoc bodily for her mind to get over it and fix itself. Alright, my turn. See if you can't stimulate some of her nerves to help cool her down, even stabilized at this temp she could literally fry her own brain, and lord knows neither of us can completely fixed that."

June gave what John took to be an affirmative, and then faded from his senses again. He then touched his fingers to the pendant around her neck, then he began to call to her, softly, in the recesses of her bridged mind: "Jewl... Jewl... Jewwl..."
Jewl groaned, the bridge between them forming. To John it would seem like his clean white expanse suddenly became stormy, clouds of chaos thundering above him, and not to far away, lay Jewl, a reflection of her mind. Her skin was deathly pale, she was burning up so much he could barely touch her, and her eyes were closed and moving rapidly behind her eye lids.

The calls did nothing more than bring new tremors to her form. Other figures began to appear, a younger version of himself, walking and talking as though someone were standing next to him, speaking about the seasons and their affect on fruit. There was also June, speaking without making a sound, not the real one, a fabrication. and there was himself as he was today, sitting at an empty table enjoy pizza.

Jewl's mind was being thrown into utter chaos, the shock of seeing advanced technology, her father, June, having her home, her only home, destroyed before her eyes, and then being attacked by the sudden battle in her body had left her mind in tatters. The pain of the fever was keeping her from recollecting herself, and her body lay unresponsive and motionless on the ground before him.
(ah shit, we went ahead and passed over into the outer limits XP we're fucked)

John was taken aback by the chaos around him. He expected it to be bad of course, but this... This was... Was there even a word for the torment? The storms raged hard, and the multiple images of himself was, almost eiree. She's still trying to make sense of all this... That means she hasn't shattered yet... Though it looks like she's indeed cracked a fair bit... Dear lord, where to begin? I know everyone's i's different, but this i's... Unsane!

He looked around again, trying to figure out where to begin. Well, guess we should start at the source. He walked over to where Jewl lay.

"Jewl. Listen to me, Jewl. Listen to the sound of my voice. I'm here now. I know I've been gone a long time. And I know that this all confuses you: new worlds, new people, new everything! I know it cant be easy, and I know it must scare the bajeebus outa you. But know this too: you are the strongest individual I have ever met. You are also the most courageous: you looked at a brand knew world, knowing nothing about it, and charged head first. And fate gifted you with that which you desired as a reward: your father back. Now your old world i's crumbling to pieces, and you are left to pick up the shards. But there i's still hope. Your ingenuity and intelligence are unmatched, even by me... Especially by me... As well as your ability to survive. The mind is one of the most powerful forces in the world: with it, we do the impossible everyday. You are the master of your mind Jewl, remember that, and that makes you master of all your domain. This is your domain Jewl, yours to mold anyway that you wish. I won't pretend that I am the same man your father was, but know this now too: if you will have me, I will spend the rest of my life trying to be as good of a father. And that's a promise, Jewl. My word is truth, and I give that gift to you. ... I love you, girl."

With that he turned away, and if Jewl didn't stop him, he would leave to try something else.
"Ah- MERDE!" Red swore, dropping Stephen's unconscious body as the lamp collided with the side of his face. He covered it with a hand and waved his free arm around in surrender. "Madame- s'il vous plaƮt, I do not want to harm you!" He pleaded, wiping some blood away from his left eye. "If I had wanted to, I would've torn your throat out while you were unconscious, now- for the sake of GOD- hear me out!"
Katt gulped slightly as she clutched her throat, still shaking slightly, "Wh-what do you want?" she asked, still keeping her distance from the weres, even though Stephen was unconcious.
**Malon**

Malon came back into the room with a warm wet cloth and placed it onto Shaun's head. "They seemed organized, and try to remain still. I imagine wolf's have good healing powers, but these darts look like they are suppose to take down a horse." She padded his hand. "So relax your not invincible."

Suddenly there was a hard knock on the door, "Be right back, that's probably mom and dad."
A few minutes later Malon came up the stairs with her father, who was still in his human form, and her mother towering over them in her were-cow form. The two explained what happened to the two weres leaving Mino with a puzzled look.
"Zeus...an odd name." Mino said.
"They can be called God for all I care. No one harms my baby and gets away with it." Linda said sternly as she knelt down to look Malon over.
"Mom, it's okay, I'm fine really. Shaun...well he protected me." she blushed.
Linda glanced over to Shaun, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you Shaunie for protecting her."
"Linda, you should call Lupe, and let her know what's happened. She's probably wondering where her son is."
Linda nodded and gave Malon one last hug before going down stairs to use the phone to call Lupe.

Mino paced as he continued to think. "I wonder if this is a human group that has found out about the 'secret' and is trying to wrangle up weres." he said. "Can either of you remember anything about the men or this 'Zeus'?"
"Heh, don't need to thank me. I'd die before I let those guys hurt Malon," he said as he sat down, trying to remember any details, "Unfortunately no," he sighed a bit, "They wore some weird suits, completely covered their faces so couldn't see anything. All I could smell on them was plastic, so I couldn't even begin to tell you if they were humans, though I can't imagine a were doing this to their own kind." he shook his head a bit, letting out a slight groan, "Those darts definately seemed like they were meant just to take the fight out of me, so I can assume they want us alive, OH! That's right, one said 'we've already got enough data on your kind' after I attacked the first guy. Zeus, showed up after I was practically unconcious, all I can tell you is he was wearing a leather trench coat."

***********

Lupe was humming softly as she sat in the living room, reading a book and waiting for Shaun to return home. She looked over at the clock, "Hmm, wonder what those two could be up to, shouldn't take this long for Shaun to get here from the Calftree farm." She shrugged a bit, figuring the new couple had just gotten 'sidetracked' on their way home.

She closed her book and stood up as the phone began ringing, "Hello? Oh Linda, how're things, I assume the kids..." Lupe's eyes widened as she heard Linda's explanation of why Shaun was late, the next thing the were-cow would hear would be the clatter as the phone hit the floor as Lupe ran out the door, her clothes tearing apart and falling away as she morphed, moving as fast as her legs could carry her.
Mino sighed, "Not much to go on, I wonder if the word Zeus means anything. Tomorrow I'll speak with Robert. He might have something in the archives."
"Robert? Dad?" Malon asked.
"He's the janitor at the city records well that's what the town thinks, but he's the record keeper on all were events that have happened in or around RM. He's been around for 100 years at least so he should know something about this Zeus."

Linda came up the stairs and came into the room. Mino turned to her seeing her worried face.
"Your mom is on her way here to see you. And judging by the phone, it won't be long. Maybe I should open the door so she doesn't smash through it."
"Great, she's gonna totally freak," Shaun groaned a bit.

It was only a few minutes before Lupe arrived, barely pausing as she charged through the open door in full were form and ran up to the bedroom, "What happened? Are you hurt? Who did this? I swear if they hurt you I'll rip their eyes out and shove them down their throats so they can watch as I disembowel them!" she growled.

Even Shaun gulped slightly, "R-relax, I'm fine, nothing more than a little sleepy really." he insisted, explaining what had happened to his mom.

"Hmm, I don't like this at all." She shook her head, "You weren't very far from here when you were attacked, if they come back and see you it could be dangerous, especially if they recgonize your human form. We should head home before that happens."

"Yeah," Shaun nodded, the last thing he wanted to do was risk putting Malon and her family in more danger. He stood up, standing there for a few seconds before looking at his hands, "What the?"

"Something wrong?" Lupe asked as she moved towards the door.

"Yeah," Shaun again looked over himself, "I can't transform."
