Actually, the Digimon's gas only affects teenagers, so the Clockmaker wouldn't need the gas mask. (Though he would most certainly be wearing one otherwise, as it is far too squicky to include him in the sex).

Anyway, I'm not sure if I'll put the boat scene in the story, seeing as Kiriha will already have captured the Digimon by then.

Whether some will like it or not, Masaru was already established as a Digimon anime protagonist. Sure he "broke the law" with the lack of Goggles unlike his fellow mains, but a protagonist is still protagonist.

Because viewer ratings are always 100% based on quality and have nothing to do with the fact that it was not advertised as much and that Digimon had not been on for three years when it started, right?

Savers was not "cut short". It was planned to be shorter from the beginning because the producer did not have high hopes for it, as it was the first Digimon series after a three year hiatus.
