At the start of the fourth quarter in the Seahawks vs. Panthers game, the stadium played Alice In Chains' "Sea of Sorrow," which was not a single, and was on their very old (1990) and underrated first album. It took me a second to figure it out, but of course, it has to do with Alice In Chains also coming from Seattle. More importantly, I just won $5 by betting on the Seahawks against a friend of mine, a future I.R.S. worker. Does anybody else love the Seahawks new uniforms? As someone who wears green pants and shirts everyday, I think they're awesome!

On April 20, 2002, Staley was found dead in his home two weeks post mortem after injecting a mixture of heroin and cocaine known as a "speedball". He was 34 years old. His body was also surrounded by various drug possessions and equipment. His body was so badly decomposed that he was only positively identified through a check of his dental records.

The last AiC album, "Music Bank," was released in '99, but Staley died in '02. I guess April's a bad month for lead singers of Seattle bands (Cobain died April 5, 1994). Personally, I prefer Jerry Cantrell. He was the real brains of Alice In Chains (check the music credits on their best songs). Cantrell's two disc version of "Degradation Trip" is one of the most beautiful albums ever released, and "Boggy Depot" isn't all that bad either.

Damn. he was in that hotel room for a long-ass time, I guess. It sucks because all of the REALLY good ones always die off, and yet we still have the dicks and pretentious asses still around. Why cant Fred Durst ever be found dead and even-more-bloated on a motel room floor?
