Anime You Dislike (And why?)

In YuGiOh defense, the American version was heavy edited... but personally I think even the Japanese version sucks because Yugi is such a Mary Sue....

An anime I dislike is... Katanagatari. Some of the fight scenes are good and all, the animation is fluid, and the drawing style can be beautiful but weird, especially the anatomy of characters and the character designs, but they seriously need a dictionary so they can look up the definition of "SWORD".

The story revolves around this annoying, white haired chick who has an eye which her pupil turns into a cross at random intervals for some reason... and this is never explained. The eye never does anything. She works for the emperor or what ever, the dialog in this anime is often too long and too pointless to pay attention to, that one just ends up not listening, or skipping them sometimes, so I forget.

Her lord wants her to collect "Shikizaki Kiki's 12 Deviant Blades". Shikizaki Kiki is a legendary sword-smith who made 1000 swords far greater than any other. The emperor has already collected 988 of these, but it turns out, they were all just practice for the last 12 swords, which were so powerful that merely possessing one "poisons" the user with temptation, and greed for the sword, that they would do anything to keep it.

Togame (the girl, female main character) finds Yasuri Shichika (our main character), who is a master of the ultimate swordsmanship style with the attacks named after flowers. Sounds cool, no? THE ULTIMATE SWORDSMANSHIP STYLE CANNOT BE USED WITH A SWORD. That's right. Shichika is a hand-to-hand combatant. THAT DOES NOT MAKE HIM A SWORDSMAN, OR A SWORD. Togame refers to him as her sword, because he's so powerful. More on this later.

Shichika lives with his adorable, sickly sister, Yasuri Nanami (who is the most awesome character in the entire series, period!) on a remote island, and refuses to go with Togame. When asked how she will convince him to go with her, she says "Because you will fall in love with me."

And with that order, he stupidly falls in love with her for no other reason than that she told him to fall in love with her.

Anyway, the fights are boring, because you know Shichika ALWAYS wins. Without a scratch. No matter how awesome, or sympathetic the villains are. It is a welcome sight to see him lose the very first time, in the entire 12 episodes, each an hour (40+ minutes without commercial breaks I think) long.

Then there are the swords. Dear God, the swords.

The first sword he got is indestructible. But the sword they talk about next is said to be able to split the moon, and can cut that sword (which breaks later anyway, without the use of the moon-splitting sword), so that sword is NOT INDESTRUCTIBLE.

Speaking of the sword that can split the moon, throughout the series, we are shown a white-haired man, a complete badass (who looks really freaking effeminate), who cuts down everyone, mostly evil people, and even as they fall to their deaths they remark "he's so cool". We are lead to believe that this man will be Shichika's main rival, or at least, arch-nemesis. Finally, when the preview of the next episode showed Shicka and that man fighting, it was epic! Oceans (and the sharks hidden in the waves), mountains, everything was split cleanly by the sword, and he and Shichika had an awesome battle. I waited a MONTH in anticipation for that next episode.

As a bonus, that next episode involved Nanami's day at the remote island, all by herself, and I fall in love with how sweet she is. The episode ends... and what's this? THE FIGHT IN THE PREVIEW FROM LAST MONTHS EPISODE HAPPENED OFF-SCREEN!? Shichika and Togame are sitting down, eating dangos, and TALKING ABOUT HOW HARD THAT FIGHT WAS. THEY HAVE THE GALL TO TALK ABOUT HOW EPIC IT WAS!? GAAAH!!

*Drinking hot chocolate* Sorry about that, I just hate it when my expectations are raised and I end up waiting a whole month for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AND HAD MY SOUL CRUSHED TO BITS!! THOSE BASTARDLY MOTHER FUDG-

It wasn't so bad. Seeing Nanami was worth it... trust me.

The other swords?


There is a medieval suit of armor that they call a sword. THAT IS NOT A SWORD, IT IS ARMOR. NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY, THAT IS ARMOR. It is a sword that protects the user from all harm, it says. THAT IS FREAKING ARMOR!! It's even called Yoroi (Zokuto Yoroi). YOROI MEANS ARMOR!!

There is a sword that is a four-armed, four-legged, solar powered clockwork mechanical doll. It's a solar powered robot. In that era. THAT IS MORE AWESOME THAN ANY SWORD. Do not refer to that as a sword!

There is a sword called Sento Tsurugi. It is 1000 swords, the 999 being copies of the original. But all 1000 swords are considered one sword. It is a sword designed to be disposable, so when one is lost, just grab another one. THAT IS STUPID. If you want a sword like that, JUST BUY 1000 NORMAL SWORDS. Why would you make a uber sword- SWORDS- and make them disposable!? Shikizaki Kiki is an IDIOT.

Ignoring all the other swords- the 12th sword is a pair of guns.

Do these look like "A SWORD" to you?

Go watch this series. It's got an epic final episode, and badassery all around... but prepare to be frustrated at some parts too. I watched the very first episode, and it updated once a month, so with twelve episode, I watched them all in one year. It was not worth the wait, and I could have done without seeing it, but I'm not too ruffled about that. Lotsa people love it! Maybe you will too. X3 I recommend www.animecrazy.net

Anyway I dislike Anime that have TOO much and Unnecessary fan service. Like showing panties or boobies 22 mins out of a 23 min ep or some shit like that... just dont >_> or anime with over used plots.

I dun like lots of fan service either. If I wanted soft porn, or just porn, I would've watched Hentai. X3 Anime like Kanokon, or Rosario + Vampire annoy me, especially since the R+V Manga is infinitely better in plot and events, and character depth.

Not too keen on harem anime either.

Harem Animes are just TOO DAMN obvious... and it always has that type of characters to satisfy people's likings so meh xD

In R+V, it's just ridiculous. Tsukune, the main character, to me, is an asshole. Everyone KNOWS he only has eyes for Moca. Everyone KNOWS they're gonna be together. Why doesn't he just tell the other girls it's not gonna happen instead of leading them around?

I'm quite fond of the snow girl though, the one with the stripes stockings. XD
