Kingdom Hearts: Darkness Falls

"One Who Knows Everything?" Roland repeated with a smirk on his face.

Roland quietly laughed at the sarcasm seeping from Kazu's remark. His laughter quickly died as he sensed the dark aura of the Heartless descending on their position.

Roland whispered,"Espada", and his magic sword faded into existence in his hand. He didn't know why but something felt peculiar about this attack.... there was an ominous presence somewhere out there.... hiding in the shadows, as if it was watching them...

"Get ready," advised Roland. "They're coming...."

[Mai]

'What a drag! Hey! You Heartless freaks don't know who you're messing with!' Daisy shouted.

Although the girl's attitude was whimsical and light-hearted, she held her parasol in front of her, slipping the handle upwards to reveal a blade within.

'I was holding back last time, you're gonna be sorry.' She muttered, her other hand withdrawing a kunai from inside her tunic.

[Yoosei]

Meeping, surprised by the sudden appearance of heartless, Kiva quickly reached her hand out "Firebolt" she shouted, throwing a ball of fire against one of the heartless that was approaching her.

OOC: Obli, I was waiting to see how everyone would respond to the Heartless.

IC:
Anima watched as the fire hit one of the heartless, along with the others getting ready. He was enveloped in a cloud of energy, and was gone when it disippiated. He reappeared in the middle of a group of shadows, and started to swing at any that got close enough. 'These are too easy. Where are the ones that led to the downfall of my world? These grunts were easily destroyed...I can feel something bigger nearby.'

Kazu snarled and immediately jumped into the middle of a swarm of Heartless that was appearing nearby. As he was airborne, he noticed that more and more Heartless were appearing. Their small shadowy bodies were covering nearly every surface and it seemed like an endless horde was approaching them. As he landed, he slashed out at several of the Heartless with his gauntlets, and when his feet were firmly planted on the ground, he crouched into a low position and spun around which allowed the cold, steel blades on his arms to slice and kill the entire group of Heartless he had leapt into. He stood up and looked around. Now it seemed as though the Heartless were everywhere. He slashed out left and right, a flurry of blows here, and more slicing there. But no matter how much he lashed out, the Heartless seemed perpetual.

"Guys, this isn't good," he shouted as he slashed an attacking Heartless with one of his blades. "These things aren't giving up." Several Heartless tried to trip him, but he leapt into the air again, but the Heartless were getting smarter. Several of the Shadows jumped into the air with him and, with their combined force, managed to slam Kazu back into the ground. Even combined, their strength was barely anything to be worried about. Kazu landed on his feet less than gracefully and did a backflip away from the Heartless that he was fighting only to be greeted by another group.

"Tiger Claw!" Kazu slashed at the newest group of Heartless wiping out about half of them, but his follow-up slash was much stronger and obliterated them. But from that defeated group arose more Heartless...

[Mai]

Daisy leapt into the air, throwing her parasol into the group of Heartless below her, needles shooting out of it into their shadowy bodies.

The ninja landed amongst them, her parasol blade and kunai slashing out around her in nimble, darting movements.

Spinning around, she slammed a sandalled foot into one, then tore up another with a couple of slashes from her blades.

As the girl pulled a few needles from her hair, a couple of Heartless swiped at her back, their claws tearing through Daisy's clothes and slicing her skin. She grunted and stabbed a needle into each of their throats, before producing a smoke pellet and slamming it into the ground, engulfing a large portion of the Heartless in thick smoke.

'There are waaaay too many!' Daisy cried, making an agile retreat a little way back over the heads of her opponents.

Roland looked on as he saw everyone rapidly attack the Heartless horde. Kiva quickly incinerated a Heartless with a fireball, while Kazu and Daisy slashed at the never-ending Shadows. Roland's worry was at ease until he saw Kazu knocked to the ground. If that wasn't all, he then heard Daisy grunt as a Heartless slashed at her with its claw. She quickly ended the scuffle and threw a smoke bomb to retreat.

"Damn! This is impossible! They have to be thinning out!"

As if to prove him wrong, six Shadows jumped out of the cloud of smoke. Roland ran toward them and jumped, meeting them in midair. He dealt a few strokes of his sword, all of them almost too fast to see. The Heartless all exploded in puffs of acrid smoke, as Roland landed on the other side of the smoke cloud.

And that's when he saw him. He was enveloped in darkness so foul it warped his image. It was almost painful to look at him.... to look at the hollow amber-gold eyes that shined in the darkness that was him. He stared at Roland, who was paralyzed in fear, and raised his weapon. The weapon reflected him, dark and evil. The obsidian weapon glistened in the sky. In fact, it looked much like a key....

The shadowed figure muttered an incomprehensible string of words and even more Shadows crept out of the ground.

"No.... It can't be!"

The Shadows all leaped toward Roland.

He closed his eyes in pure fright awaiting the unimaginable pain. But it never came. Slowly opening his eyes he saw all the Heartless dissapear in the puffs of smoke. And in the middle of them all he saw a man. He had long brown hair and wore a black jacket with black pants.... and in his hand he held a blade. Or was it a gun? No, it was a gunblade.

The Heartless leader shook his head and turned around. As he dissapeared into the darkness, many more Heartless stepped out. Except that they were different this time, they weren't mere Shadows. This time they were Soldiers.

"Looked like you needed some help." said the brown-haired strager. He turned around and Roland caught a good look at his face, which had a scar running across it. "They call me Leon."

Name: Shirokaze of the White Wind

Shiro was taken from birth and trained to be one of the elite guardians of his land's greatest and most sacred treasures; the Imperial Regalia, because of the rare bloodline he possessed. His bloodline carried a terrible curse as well as a gift bestowed upon his eyes. The gifts and curses were;

Tsukuyomi, Goddess of the Moon: When activated, his normally blue eyes' black pupils turn a fiery shade of red, allowing him greater perception and the ability to cast powerful illusions as well as a degree of Cryokinesis. Its curse is spontaneous severe migraines (brain freezes) and hallucination.

Amaterasu, Goddess of the Sun: When activated, his fiery red pupils turn white, and his blue irises turn black, allowing him to see clearly no matter how dark it was and a degree of Pyrokinesis. Its main ability would be that he can burn anything within his range of vision to smoldering ashes with black flames. Its curse is a high fever and random bouts of temporary blindness.

Susano'o, God of Storms: When activated, his white pupils turn black, his black irises turn gold, and his white sclera turn blacker than night, allowing him numerous abilities based on the elements of a storm as well as the ability to surround himself in a protective yet destructive black aura in the shape of a demonic warrior. Its curse is spontaneous paralysis and intense pain.

When he was old enough (13), he was enlisted as a low-ranking Shadowguard grunt. The Shadowguard were his nation's most elite fighters and guardians whose goals and priorities were to protect the crown and the Imperial Regalia. He worked his way up from The Amber (Yellow) Shadowguard (Grunt) all the way to The Alabaster (White) Shadowguard (Second Class), learning each rank's lore. He gained the respect of his mentor, the only person in their land to achieve a Zero (Black) Shadowguard (First Class) Rank; Kurohikari of the Black Light, who trained him and raised him like his own son. Years of protecting the Imperial Regalia and fighting Shadows (Heartless) turned him into a hardened warrior, and soon, he had gained the emperor's respect. He would be the second person to ever be inducted into the Black Guard.

However, before he could be inducted into the Black Guard where he could learn more powerful techniques and secrets, a new breed of Shadow attacked them, Shadows that could not be harmed by normal weapons. They could only be vanquished by powerful "Shadow Banish", the lore of the Shadowguard. The battle was hard, and it was slowly turning in the favor of the shadows. That was when disaster struck; Kurohikari massacred the Shadowguard with his own amazing prowess, leaving no one to protect the land from Shadows. Shirokaze had been out with his fellow Alabaster Shadowguard, protecting the villages around the capital from unnaturally large and powerful Shadows. He was the only one to survive after slaying the last one, and he returned, still heavily wounded from the battle, only to discover Kurohikari himself slaughtering the royal family. Confronting his Mentor, he learned that Kuro wanted the Imperial Regala for himself, as they were the only weapons that could vanquish Shadows. When they were his, he would vanquish the Shadow King, and rid the land of Yamato from Shadows. He would then rule Yamato as its new emperor, and extend his reign past the seas, claiming the rest of the world for himself.

With the royal family dead, Shiro's last duty was to the Imperial Regalia, and so he faced Kuro, whom he'd loved like a father. They fought all the way to the Shrine of the Imperial Regalia, with Kuro pushing Shiro back, the latter was clearly outmatched as well as heavily injured from his last battle. He was left half-dead, with one eye clawed out and the rest of his body critically injured. Kuro merely left him alive, pointing out how weak he was still, before climbing up the stairs to the Shrine. Refusing to give up, Shiro invoked with all of his strength a Shadow Banish that teleported Shadowguard to the Chambers of the Royal Family directly, sending Kuro there. He then ran as fast as he could up the steps, covering his ruined eye with his torn shirt as he reached the top, and secured the three Great and Sacred Imperial Regalia;

[spoiler=Kusanagi no Tsurugi] A double edged, narrow bladed longsword with an ornate hilt and scabbard, which is sharp on one edge. The blade is black with white kanji on it. It is indestructible, and its blade can extend indefinitely, carrying a tremendous force behind it without affecting the wielder. When this happens, the blade resembles pure black energy with glowing white kanji. Its weight while extended does not affect the wielder either. When stuck into the ground the wielder can cause a wave of blades similar to the Kusanagi to erupt from the ground.[/spoiler]
[spoiler=Yata no Kagami]A large, octagonal mirror with an ornate frame. It is indestructible and can be used to attack by using strange triangular forcefields. It is a defensive weapon, and can convert damage to health. Alternately, it reflects damage back to any part of an attacker's body that is reflected on its surface.[/spoiler]
[spoiler=Yasakani no Magatama]Prayer beads that consists of three kinds of beads: Black round beads, white beads resembling a half of a ying yang symbol (a magatama), and a single bead resembling a tomoe within a clear pebble. The Yasakani can extend and be used as a razor whip, glowing white when it does. Alternately, the round beads can be used to bind targets, sealing off their abilities, the coma-shaped beads can be used as powerful remote control bullets, and the main bead causes powerful explosions, seal away things within it or cause targets to shatter like glass. When wielded, it can be wrapped around one's arm, or worn around one's neck or torso. The Yasakani is the most versatile of the three Imperial Regala as it has many functions based on the commands the wielder uses.[/spoiler]


With the sword strapped to his hip, the mirror to his back and the beads around his left arm, he swore to protect the three Imperial Regala with is life one last time and put up a last stand as he he spotted a furious Kuro racing back toward the shrine, flanked by countless Shadows. Shiro himself was surrounded by Shadows, but as he deemed himself unworthy of the sacred Imperial Regalia, he dared not dishonor them by wielding them. Closing his eyes, he drew the only weapons he had left, three kunai (throwing knives), and as he fought, his world was engulfed in darkness.

Class: Alabaster Shadowguard

Class Abilities: Shadow Banish (Anti-Heartless Lore. He lost all of it save for "Kouryoushi Scrambler", "Hikari/Kuroi Hikari" and "Yokou" when he skipped from his realm to to the other realm, too injured to even invoke them. He has to regain all of them one by one through experience and hard work, as well as recovery.)

Amber Shadow Banish -
The Amber (Yellow) Shadowguard's lore. Skills of this branch focus on defense, as well as the element of earth and lightning.


Azure Shadow Banish -
The Azure (Blue) Shadowguard's lore. Skills of this branch focus on support, as well as the element of water and wind.


Vermilion Shadow Banish -
The Vermilion (Red) Shadowguard's lore. Skills of this branch focus on offense, as well as the element of fire and metal.


[Spoiler=Alabaster Shadow Banish]Kotou (Solitary light) - When in battle, he slowly regenerates wounds.

Yokou (Lingering light) - After a battle, be it victory or defeat, his presence increases the party's regeneration rate. [Passive]

Touei (Flicker of Light) - He can teleport short distances. [Active]

Hakkou (White Light) - When in battle, each time he moves in a straight line, he leaves a streak of light in his wake, confusing opponents. When curving, he leaves still moving afterimages of light. These fade after a few moments. [Passive]

Sankou (Scattered Light) - In battle, when he changes direction sharply, pillars of bright light erupt around him and scatter into orbs, disorienting opponents. [Passive]

Kashoku (Bright Light) - When resting, his presence turns would be wild animals or monsters away, and increases the party's stamina recovery. [Passive]

Hoero no Kouha (Howl of light waves) - A howl charged with magic that causes a massive pillar of prismatic light to erupt upward from underneath him, pushing those around him away. The pillar causes an aurora to wash over the skies, and smaller pillars of concentrated light bolts down on multiple enemies, healing allies that are caught in the area of effect. This skill is severely straining to use and does not heal him. [Active]

Kouryoushi Scrambler: (Light Quantum Scrambler) Scrambles the photon molecules around him, rendering him very hard to see. He can also imbue his paws and weapons with photon molecules to make his movement and attacks considerably faster. Can also imbue other things with light, like blades of grass to make them sharp and stiff, or blunt objects like sticks so they can cut like razors and move faster, etc. [Active]

Hikari/Kuroi Hikari: (Light/Black Light) Attacks with beams, streaks and whips of concentrated light. Can make light molecules (photons) dense enough to hold people in place (white), or function like ultra high powered lasers (black). He can also use this to fashion solid objects like weapons from solid photons. [Active]

Kikenshingou: Yuumei Shotai - (Danger Signal: Dark and Light Extinction) Using protons to propel himself up to the sky, he rapidly fires five black orbs around a target/s with his palm, then fires a thin white beam from his finger, connecting the black orbs like a connect the dot activity, finishing with a glowing white pentagram that explodes upward in pure, concentrated light. The orbs shoot toward the center, holding the target inside, and Shiro finishes it off with a massive charged beam from above. The entire thing happens in five seconds. [Active]

Kikenshingou: Meian Seiginoken - (Danger Signal: Light and Shade Sword of Justice) Creates and summons numerous swords compromised of pure light and they hover all around Shiro, attacking like a hurricane of devastating blades. [Active]
[/spoiler] - The Alabaster (White) Shadowguard's lore. Skills of this branch focus on vanquishing and sealing, as well as the element of light and psychics. Shiro has not learned any of the Zero (Black) Shadowguard lore.

Shiro panted harshly, still gripping his three kunais between his fingers tightly as he dragged his battered form down a dark alley, clutching his injured and bleeding shoulder. Grunting, he rested his back against the brick wall and slid down, leaving a streak of red on the bricks as he did so. Blood puddled around where he sat, soaking his pants. He cradled the mirror and sword to his chest and endured the pain, his muscles still tensed for battle. He waited for lore to start healing him naturally, but when it didn't, he knew that he was still in battle. Baring his fangs, he snapped his paw up, the kunais prepared to strike, the edges charged up with light.

Shiro sat still for a few moments, before suddenly striking in a wide arch, a half circle of heartless that popped up from seemingly nowhere, surrounded him before being reduced into puffs of smoke, each releasing a single heart. "Kurosu... Kage..." The warrior grunted shakily through gritted teeth.

*"Kill... Shadows..."

Roland stood up and looked at Leon.

"Thanks. Let's go and take care of these guys." Leon said. He nodded and ran off into the mob of Heartless, where he slashed at them gracefully.

Roland turned around and saw Daisy try to treat her wound. A brown-haired flowergirl with green eyes walked out of the alley and whispered, "Curaga". Magically the torn flesh mended intself in a flash of white light. "Hello, I'm here to help. My name is Aerith." she said in the gentlest voice.

Roland turned to Kazu and saw him being mobbed by Heartless once again. But this time it looked like he might be hurt. When out of the sky, a shuriken came and shredded right through them all. Kazu quickly turned to the source of the attack and saw a girl with short, black hair grinning at him from the top of the roof. "Hey! Don't let them defeat you! It'd be a shame if such a cute guy was gobbled up by the darkness!" she shouted at him.

Roland turned once again to the source of the Heartless and saw even Leon struggling to fend them off.

"Wow, this really is going to be impossible...." said Roland in a defeated voice.

"THUNDAJA!!!" bellowed a voice. The voice commanded powers that made every Heartless shudder in fright. A second later, a thousand lightning bolts rained upon the town, killing every Heartless in sight. Leon turned around and said "Merlin, he's finally here."

But Merlin shouted at the adventurers, "It's not over yet! Look!"

Roland turned around and saw a violet suit of armor coalesce out of the darkness.

Kazu was breathing heavily from the immense sea of Heartless that seemed to stretch into perpetuity. However, his burden was lightened as he watched the shuriken render the Heartless to clouds of darkness. He heard his savior's voice and took to heart the encouragement it lent him. But one thing plagued his mind through the whole ordeal. Cute? Me? Really now? he thought. Yet, his thoughts were scattered as he watched patiently as the remaining Heartless merge together to form a fearsome Heartless in the shape of creepy armor.

Kazu sighed heavily. "Are you joking?" he grumbled.

The torso of the floating tilted slightly and light particles began to collect at the end. Soon, an enormous sphere of light was sparkling brightly at the end of the torso. Kazu knew what was coming. The torso jerked back and the sphere of light came hurtling towards the group of adventurers.

Kazu didn't have much time to react. He was quick on his feet and dodged into a nearby alleyway in order to evade the attack.

OOC: Those who wish to continue with this role play, dodge the attack. However, if you plan to drop out, then now is your chance. Just take the hit and type your dying post. (I hope this isn't the case with most of you...)
