It's been a while, but he doesn't play too strong of a role in the main plot. He fights Alucard twice (as far as I can remember), and he was one of the better "people." He was able to counter most of Alucards tricks, but Alucard was more powerful in the end... of course.

That dude tossed alot of spade-shaped weapons around.... well that is my best description.
