Happy New Year!

I had an interesting New Year's Eve. I found out that I'm one of 33 out of thousands (or possibly millions) that are going to get their poems read and commented on CD's by Poetry.com (with my permission). It came with a signed Editor's Choice Award. I went to a party with my sister's friends at a house that was being housesitted. Are you sensing a cliche'? That's right, lots of booze, spills, and puking, and I just laughed at the drinkers from my high and mighty sobriety. I feel bad for the kid who's going to have to clean it up. I played Scrabble against 3 professional type Scrabble players who brought their own unabridged dictionary and knew every two letter word in it, and I managed to beat them all by clearing my letters with the word "sardonic" (a 50 point bonus). Yes, this was before they got drunk. Here's a New Year's poem for everybody (from an award winning poet :D ). Remember, it's copyrighted.


A Lost Resolution

I remember I swore
That two thousand and four
Would be the year I stopped being alone.
Already lost the weight,
All that was on my plate
Was the job of searching through the unknown.
So I searched for a year,
And I tried despite fear.
Tried and I failed, which I couldn
