Public schools haven't really worked for anyone in my family, especially not here in Massachusetts, where the public schools just plain suck. I have some hearing and vision problems, and the public schools around here don't really pay attention to things like that. For the brief time that I went to the public elementary, my poor hearing and lack of depth perception got me classified as "special".

I got classified as "special" too, but only because I liked to make wiseass comments to teachers, and pull various other minor classroom pranks. The system and my parents just didn't have a sense of humor about it. In retrospect, perhaps I overdid the farting.
