Calibremon now feels that his sob-stories shall be shared for the world to read... or at least the DaD. (How much of the 'outside world' reads this carp anyway?)
First of all, I did not get a job until I was 17 years old. This was nearly a year ago. (January of 06) The place was called Ruckers, which is essentially the Canadian equivilant of Chuck E. Cheese's. (Which, from what I hear, is going bankrupt)
Anyways I was happy. "Yay!" I thought. "I will be making superhappybananaramafunbucks of my own!"
I was in for a big surprise.
The surprise's name was Chesa. Chesa was the store's Assistant Manager AND Shift Supervisor. The only reason Chesa had achieved this power was her mother owns the store. Chesa had dropped out of college and her mother felt bad, so she gave her a fancy, important job with twice the paycheck of any of us wage-slaves. (Chesa's favorite nickname for us, specifically me.)
Now, shifts work like this. There's one Supervisor (lucky me, I got Chesa) and two others. (We didn't even get a title. What a crock.) My fellow peon was Leigha, Chesa's sister.
I did not envy Leigha in the least. Being 'blood' made her the target of Chesa's wrath up until she quit two weeks after I got there. I thought "Uh oh... what have I got myself into now?" Chesa is a slave-driver, literally. She threatens me with shift and wage cuts, writing me up (Chesa has unrestricted access to the Incident Log) and, on her really bad, PMS-ey days, bodily harm. So I'm doing the jobs of both two employees (Leigha's previous job) and the work of a Supervisor too. And why is that, praytell?
Here's a synopsis of Chesa's work ethic.

Nope, that's really all there is to it. She does nothing EXCEPT when the boss (her mummy) is in the store. Then she's off like "Super-Employee" and doing five million things at once.
Why?
Chesa: "Because (Cal) doesn't do shit-all!" O_o; Excuse me!? I do YOUR job AND Leigha's job even when you're standing around, having your lunch or god-knows-what; and you have the cajones to say that I DON'T DO SHIT ALL!?!?
Well, I put up with that for a few weeks before demanding that I be moved to closing shift with Mike. (He's one of the other Supervisors, and a wicked-awesome guy.)
That lasted about 2.5 weeks. Chesa conspired to have him fired. Mike was apparantly 'skimming off the register' as she put it. Mike was sacked immediately. Why? Because dear ol' mum would never accuse her daughter of lying and conspiracy.
So after about a month, I'm back in with Chesa, and I blow a fuse. I take my complaints straight to the boss, her mother.
I thought "Hey! She's the supreme authority over Chesa on two counts! This has got to work, right?"
WRONG
Here's what our 'compassionate' and 'understanding' boss said:
Penny: Yes, (Cal) what is it?
(Cal): It's about Chesa.
Penny: Oh? *feigning indifference, as to show no loyalty to any of her employees. BS*
(Cal): *finally letting it all come out* She's a fucking bitch! She doesn't do any work as far as you know, and when you DO see her work, its because you're there to watch her, and she has me doing everything when you're not around! It's complete horse-shit, and I'm fed up with it. To put it to you real-simple-like, She smartens up, or I pack up.
Penny: *She's got this real weird look on her face like her mouth's gonna implode or something. She's also a really pale, parchement-kinda color* I see... Well, (Cal) you have to see it like this. Chesa has issues. Control issues. (Fucking DUH! I thought) She doesn't realise that what she does is upsetting you, or even wrong. What am I supposed to do?
(Cal): So you're going to do nothing. You're just going to cover for her, just because she's your daughter, is that it? Equal Opportunity my white, pimply ass! Consider that my two weeks.
After that, things went to hell. Chesa took every opportunity to tear me a new one; even arranging convenient 'accidents' for me to fall victim to. (My poor hands and arms still bear the scars and burns)
But the worst part was this: I lived in a small town, so there weren't that many jobs that hired high-school students, and Chesa had been to them all. She said that if I quit, I would NEVER get a job in this town. Literally. She had a neat little stack of sexual harassment forms all filled out and just waiting to go in the incident log.
Fuck; She's got me by my marbles, and twisting ever-so-slowly.
But then my salvation came. My father offered to let me move in with him (he lives in Ontario, where I am now) and I thought salvation was at hand.
It was, in a sense. After giving my two weeks, I clocked out on the final day, and when I did, I left a neat little type-written note on the store computer, forwarded to every employee's account, detailing just what kind of person Chesa is.
I never got to see what happened, but from what I hear, Mike got his job back. Justice is sweet.
But now, here I am in Ontario, 48 resumes, 5 interviews, and 2 second interviews later, and not one step closer to a job.
Apparantly 'Out of school' translates into 'dropout retard' here, or something. I don't dare give them my last job as a reference, so I guess in way, Chesa's still won... for now.
