I know, I've heard them before. They have a sound that attempts to be death, but they can't quite get the drumming right for it. That's fine if you want to be regular metal, but then you need some more meaningful lyrics.

Yes, I have heard about De La Rocha's politics. He's a democratic socialist, right?

I think he feels that people are denied equal rights and opportunities, not just in this country, but all over the world. I think the problem isn't quite as bad as he makes it out to be, and I certainly disagree with him on many issues. For instance, if there are Mexicans trying to sneak across the border, and they know it's illegal, and they somehow end up dead, I'm not gonna cry for 'em. He's also big on government conspiracies-most of those I agree with. I wouldn't say that he's necessarily an all-out socialist. I think part of him just hates white people.

"Zapatista blood", I believe that means he's Hispanic, but he might be part white, which is why I said part of him.

Now that's just wrong. I'm sure he's felt actual racism and poverty, and he grew up "having never seen the color of my father's eyes". Also, the other members of RATM (currently Audioslave) came from diverse backgrounds. Just because you disagree with his views, doesn't give you the right to make up stories to discredit him. You do that, and you're no better than those swift boat veterans who said Kerry didn't deserve his medals.

Well, it depends on whether they were actually there....
But, I digress, I still say that his message sounds immature and very idealist. Hopefully his idealism will turn into a healthy cynicism, like me.
