Alright. About 2 weeks ago, I graduated from high school. I had been accepted into a nice college, and I had a $1000 writing scholarship. Not bad, right?
Fast forward to today. I got a letter from my college. It said, quite simply...
They're Broke.
It's almost hilarious. The college blew a shitload of money on creating some new buildings, and now they're $77 million in debt.
To quote Gilbert Gottfried, "What the FUCK?!"
Holy shit what a assholes I did not take this.

Thankfully, the college will remain open until September 1, 2005. After that, however, I'll get transferred to a different college. It could be worse, but it's still annoying as hell.

This is one of the many reasons why I've always stuck to public schools. Private schools were an option, but I stayed humble. Public schools may not be glamourous, but they get the job done.

You should see the condition Australian private schools are. They get funded almost triple the amount as public schools. Some of them are like bloody castles. Public schools are crap here, it's just that some of us can't afford 'proper' education. I hate Queensland.

Public schools haven't really worked for anyone in my family, especially not here in Massachusetts, where the public schools just plain suck. I have some hearing and vision problems, and the public schools around here don't really pay attention to things like that. For the brief time that I went to the public elementary, my poor hearing and lack of depth perception got me classified as "special".
Hell, one of my cousins got beaten up during his time at the local high school, and suffered some brain damage as a result. The school refused to expell the kid who injured him, so my cousin just got bounced around between schools for a couple of years, until finally, he just sort of dropped out. I don't think he's been to school since.
This is why I love the concepts of CEGEPs. At least I got two secure years of that in before I went into a full-on University where the future constantly teters on finacial scandals, a mini-Isreali-Palestinian conflict which occasionally evolves into riots, and enough tiny factions bitching for enough money to collectively bankrupt a small country.

Actually, my life is growing worse. My little brother is just starting his own college process, so my parents just want to shove me off to Western Maryland University, because it was my 4th choice. I really don't want to go there. I don't know anyone out there, aside from my aunt and her family, and there's really nothing to do in Maryland unless you're into politics. But my parents aren't really offering me a choice, because they want the matter taken care of immediately. Again:
What the FUCK?!
