I know my PC's laughing at me right now. I was ripping the first 2 seasons of Transformer DVD and I was about to get started on 3rd season when the hard drive holding all the completed rips just up and ate everything. The first 40 episodes all gone! Every utility I ran shows nothing is wrong and every undelete and unformat program didn't find anything. It's as if someone ripped out the original 80GB drive and installed a different 80GB drive.

Fortunately most of the temp ripped files are still on my other hard drive so I won't have to re-rip second season. Just encode and convert to avi and rip first season.

The irony is I have a DVD burner and I had planned to archive all of the Transformer episodes tomorrow before I started ripping the third season.

To answer that question, that one offending hard drive is about to be pumped full of lead. I had finished ripping the 4th season of Transformer and had almost everything burned to disks when the hard drive once again went bad and deleted half of everything. I have since then stopped using that hard drive (it is now unformatted for some reason) and I just never got around to taking it out of my PC.
