So instead of going to class on time, I'm sitting at my dad's desktop trying to save as much data as I can as a virus is tearing through his computer. He has a lot of important data too. Most of his future website is on here, but I managed to get it off. Later I'll be scanning it all and isolating everything I saved to see if they are clean or not. So DaD, what virus stories do you have?

Non that I'm aware of but that's the thing about viruses. At any time your computer can go kaput.
Sucks when it happens too. It's also why I try to keep a backup external hard drive. Just in case. You can never be to careful anymore.

I just recently noticed about 6-7 viruses on my PC that Norton actually picked up... well, correction, on my Data Ext. Drive's Furry Hentai section... Tho it cost me a good bit since I had to reinstall windows on my labtop , but now I did get rid of them for good.
They didn't want to go down easy that's for sure lol.
Nyaa... Will be around but not very much.

Currently dealing with a bug caused by an NVidia Driver that caused my GPU fan to malfunction and not work or get detected by the system. Long story short, it causes the GPU to go nova even when idle.

Way back in 2009, my laptop got infected by the same virus four times, it turns out the damn thing was in the hidden recovery partition. After I backed up everything, I deleted that partition and did a clean install, but the recovery DVDs where also infected, so I had to waste ten hours with a especific virus removal tool. Then I scaned the recovery DVDs, thankfully only the first one was infected, I used four diferent free programs to extract the data of the DVD, fix it, and make a new DVD that windows reconiced as the real deal. Nowadays I still get the occasional virus, but I tend to scan most of the files I download before opening then.
A quick tip, Java is bad, javascript is really bad, disable both if you think the site you are going to visit has viruses, also, the firewal in parnoid mode while you are online is recomended.

Yeah I would definitely recommend NoScript if you have Firefox. Plus I'd doesn't hurt to have AdBlocker too.
PS. Thank you, Unknown I could remember the names of either add-on.

NoScript and AdBlocker. That's what you use. With good Virus/Spy/Ad Blocking software.

Awhile back I got a virus from a porn site, then I discovered hentai and everything was uphill from there.
