My jukido jujitsu instructor was doing this exercise where we go around inside a circle putting in light strikes until we're all around the circle. He said we could use any strikes that we were taught. When it got to my turn, he explicitly told me, "No back kicks, spin kicks, or any other crazy stuff. We didn't teach you that." Of course, in his demo, he used back kicks. Then I asked him, "How did you know I planned to use back kicks?" He said, "I could see it in your eyes." What really ticks me off is that I practice back kicks and spin kicks in my free time, and I'm pretty good at them, better than the instructor. It would've been nice if he could've seen them.
Sounds like either your predictable, or he's damn good. Well, the only thing I could think of is try uses punches and stuff too, but since you said you're good with kicks, I wouldn't say banish them at all, but more just add punches with your kicks. Then, if you can get that down, try mastering all three, Hand, feet, and hands with feet.
You can't predict what martial arts move a person will do soley by their eyes. Wisemon, you probably just use the back kicks so much it becomes predictable. Mix other things in, it's fun!

BTW, spin kicks really are a bad idea, as balancing them is quite tough.

I would never use a spin kick in a real fight, but they look really cool. Spinning into a back kick, a spinning back kick, is practical, and UFC fighters use those frequently.
yep , spinning kick hit hard thou if its a suprise attack it would make the cut , but best for fighting is direct kicks
The good thing about flashy martial arts techniques like spin kicks and convoluted takedowns (regardless of their impracticality) is that they work against thuggish idiots who don't know what they're doing when they challenge you to a fight. Since they don't know what they're at, even the most impractical techniques will do the job and make you seem SO cool in the process.
I dunno about that. What I've found when fighting idiot thugs (in this case a football player) is that your best chance is to play dirty. Don't aim for the Torso Box, go for up or down, as those places have less ways to defend. In my situation I socked the guy on the nose. He was bleeding and the fight was over by the time authoritative intervention got there. Of course, if those power-crazed bastards had gotten there earlier I wouldn't have needed to hit him.
I try to fight with honor, so certain areas, such as the nose, groin, and eyes, are not shots that I would take. If you break someone's nose, you can cause permanent facial damage, but you won't necessarily knock them out.
In that case, I would say go for the ribs if left open.
And the shins if you hit them right.
