If your going to run the idea of fighting against the original characters a good plot device might be to say they went to Dagomon's Dark World\Ocean to try to finish it off but were corrupted by it.

Also, would you be running the corrupted original characters or would they be avaliable as playable villains?

For the good characters, would they have to have official Digimon as their partners or could we make up Digimon?
