(A Silver and Zero production) Animators!
Alex roared with power as he felt the pleads of a thousand spirits call out to him. He kept his will strong though, and did not let any of them, not even the ones who spoke of valor and justice, control him. He used the massive power of the Fade to cast spell after spell, trying to decimate the Darkspawn army. He held up his staff and used a new spell, harnessing the power of all the spirits. Small, white wisps flew out of his staff and flew around like gnats. When they hit a darkspawn they would fly into the them and burn them from the inside out, killing them in a horrible way. The wisps also avoided any of Alex's allies, flying around or through them without harm.

The result of Alex's power and blood magic was mixed. Many Darkspawn were felled, forcing them back to the original breach even, but for every cheering soldier there was a terrified and demoralized cry.

"Blood Magic!" someone cried. "Maker preserve us!" No one knew quite how to take it, he was using blood magic after all. Then a real drawback, Alex would feel more pain surge through him. He was running out of blood, keeping the entire fade at bay was consuming a large part of his strength, and despite the power the fade itself was giving him, his body would not be able to survive the strain without...sacrifices.

Darkspawn blood was tainted, it would make for a lesser sacrifice, human blood would work better, and mage blood was even better than that! Also, accepting aid from some of the spirits would help to alleviate the massive pressure. He could do this in a few two ways.

One, he could allow the spirit to inhabit him, lending its power to his own strength, but at the same time, running the risks of possession. And two, he could simply let them spill into reality, where they would take physical form and perhaps even help him fight. Still, he needed more blood.

Alex would have told the others not to worry, but the pain in his body made it hard to. He held his heart with his red hands and tried to breathe as the army of Darkspawn were pushed back. He knew his options, and refused to give physical forms to the spirits, fearing they would all go mad and begin to kill his allies and foes. Instead, he risked possession, giving Alistair a look that begged him to kill him if he went to far.

He held up his staff and allowed a benevolent spirit to unite with him, trying to filter the spirits so one of great power and good intentions came to him.

Spirits of Justice and Valor flew into him, filling him up with power, and desires. He saw guilty men all around him, men who had committed crimes, men who had deserted, run away, cheated, raped, stolen and worse! On both sides, the Darkspawn and everyone else, they were all sinners, they all needed to taste justice, to feel Valor! But Alex was able to withhold those impulsive actions. Still, he had not replenished his blood, and although the release of spirits into himself still helped him gain power to a degree, he needed more blood for blood magic!

He would be able to three maybe three more devastating spells before his energy ran dry. He would watch his skin crack and glow as the spirits overpowered him, and feel his mind being lost in a sea of voices. And then suddenly, they stopped, and retreated from his body, as though running away, leaving Alex weak and bloody. His blood magic ended, spirits burst through the fade, most of them attacking the darkspawn as they did...most of them.

Still, it was only the most powerful spirits that had made it through, the others had ran, like the once possessing Alex. Suddenly, the Darkspawn horde split as of rent in half, and a huge army of Qunari stormed through, killing and cutting their way viciously to help defend Denerim.

"You crazy son of a bitch. You are really letting this thing get to you." said a familiar voice. Mike was standing just in front of him, changed, made to look like a Qunari now rather than a wizard. He smiled and reached down to help Alex up.

"Thou arth guilty!" An amalgam of voices roared as the earth shook and spears of earth and wood impaled many Darkspawn, though he barely stopped one that nearly hit a deserter of the army. He moved his hands, and the disgusting demons suddenly began to attack one another, biting and clawing at themselves or their brethren. Finally, their very organs turned against them, with their intestines ripping out of them to choke and tear their own apart. They could not control themselves as they mutilated one another.

Alex soon fell back down onto the ground as an army of spirits were released by him. He was thankful most were there to help, but as he saw one of them threatening Alistair, he tried to stand back up. He fell once again, unable to summon anymore strength it seemed.

A hand touched his shoulder and helped him rise. Alex looked up and saw Mike offering his hand to the mage, and he smiled brightly, despite his blood covered face. "I knew you liked me," he chuckled, standing up with his help, watching as a group of Quanari helped Alistair fight the large Pride Demon that had attacked him.

"Dont get your hopes up. I just didnt want to get charged with murder or whatever when they found your brain dead body." Mike smirked and then looked back at the battle. "Even with these Qunari, the Darkspawn will crush us. We need to take this change to attack that son of a bitch directly." He snapped his fingers and two Qunari came forward, holding a tied up elven woman. "She holds the key to finding him, maybe even destroying him." Mike said as she was bought to the. She had been tied up with ropes and a robe gag, and was shaking in fear, or cold, it was hard to tell. She looked at Alex and whimpered.

"You were in her mind, if anyone can find out what to do its you." Mike said, pushing her towards him. "Do something, anything!"

"Thanks. No pressure," Alex sighed, before walking up to the elf and taking off the ball gag. He tossed it aside and whispered to her. "Shh...Its okay. I'll protect you. Its going to be okay..." He held her head in his hands as he placed their foreheads together, and used her mind to find his nemesis, sorting through her hacks and programs.

She moaned in his arms and smiled at him after he removed the ball gag. "Master..." she moaned as he held her head. The next moment, he was traveling through her thoughts. But try as he might, there was nothing in her mind that would give away the hacker's identity. So then he was looking at her code itself. Its was put up into displays that were more or less easy to understand, but there was still a lot of information. Just the proper movement of a single hair was worth thirty screens of information alone. Luckily he was searching at the speed of thought and moving and seeing much faster than the world was actually moving.

Back outside, Mike was rallying the remaining forces around Alex. Everyone who remained alive was now in that fortified ball, desperately fighting to buy Alex some time.

Lucky for Alex, he found an anomaly after scanning only three thousand and four screens. The Anomaly revealed to Alex why the woman was so important. Lodged within her programing, Alex discovered a small copy of the hacker's Primary Code. With this and some hacking, Alex could discover the location of the hacker. But when he would try to hack it, everything would go black, and then two doors would appear in front of him, a red one and a blue one. It appeared that the code had some defenses after all and Alex would need to get through them quickly he wanted to get the info fast enough to save his friends.

Alex threw useless screens aside and dug deeper and deeper, desperate to save this false world and his virtual lover. He worked fast and hard, moving at the limit of his mind, knowing that a war was raging not to far from him...He was steadily getting more and more afraid, but was soon overcome with joy as he found something useful.

The primary code. He quickly attempted to hack it, only to find his mental projection thrown before two doors. how very Matrix-y, he thought, before he opened the blue door and walked into it.

(Your supposed to take the red pill :P )

The door swung open and then fell, frame and all into the darkness. The red door was gone, and now there was only blackness and emptiness around Alex. suddenly, the blue door flew back up, spinning and clattering as though it had been throw out of a catapult. It smacked the unseen ground, broken and splintered. From bellow where the door had come from, a light began to shine, first very faintly, but becoming brighter and brighter every second.

Suddenly, everuthing below him as brightness, and then it all began to collect into one place in front of him. Then the brightness took form, a human form, and at last the light shattered, stars the size of thumb nails flying in all directions, and in its place was a silver Alex.
