It's also like being in some relationships. For example:

If your partner tells you that your relationship is 'not moving forward', unless you're in a "committed relationship" with them.

You think about this and reject this idea. They then tell you that you are unable to commit and that you cannot 'move forward'. (Bye bye!) But, if you agree to this notion, you find out later that once you're in this "committed relationship" with them, that you are 'not moving forward', at all. Now what? (Maybe you should be committed!)

That's not a Catch-22. The latter scenario requires proof of commitment.
