if i say i am insane therfore i am sane as insane people deny being insane

does this make any sense or is it twisted logic

Here this might work a little better:
If I say I am insane, I am sane, for insane people deny being insane.
You really can't have "If" and "as" there. It makes it a run-on sentence.

I was going to say, "Who's been reading Catch-22 (one of my favorite books)? It's not as simple as how you've put it. If you want out of the war (WWII in this case), you can get sent home if the doctor deems you insane. However, you have to ask to go home before the doctor can send you home. If you ask to go home in a war, you're not insane, and therefore, you can't be sent home for being insane.
