I took the Ap test last Thursday and I thought it was really hard. My teacher told me that the test was VERY hard. So i am not worried too much.

But you can say many more things expect of "Aber" in german :
Jedoch (however)
dennoch (Sometimes can be used this, not everytime ^^ It's a sentence-dependent word.)
"und wieder kam es anders" (but it everything came not like planned again (something like this xD))
