Yes, he is a whiny little prick. He goes to college; he's got money, jobs lined up, and all he does is bitch about how he can't find a girlfriend. Only people with real problems have a right to complain and be as angry as he is. There are starving children in Africa, and Wisemon is complaining about a girl who's annoying him and another girl who he wants but can't have or some shit like that. He's completely self-centered.

May I suggest that, insted of funding a porno site, you channel your reserves to Fairtrade? They are a fantastic organisation and I am a huge fan of their work.

Also, I think that's down to the US education system more than anything. From what I've heard, they aren't taught about poverty, which I find very strange indeed. And an odd social caste system within schools; geeks, jocks, cheerleaders and such, which I have not seen anywhere else. I can stand to be corrected of course, I would love to be enlightened further about any education systems.

He was talking about something that was ticking him off in the section where you talk about stuff that ticks you off. How exactly is that self-centered?

But he can't rant about the starving children in africa- it's not part of his life.

I rant about how unfair the people here are, and the children in africa are still starving- am I whiny too?

'Course not. Whiny is complaining about something in an extremely annoying way trying to get someone to help you, while ranting is just basic complaining as a way to help get something off your chest and help you deal with it. These aren't official definitions but they're the ones I use.

You see, the formula is right. And that starving africans line doesn't work anymore.

Well, my computer's been out of commission as some of you know. Guest, I'm about to be very blunt with you. Please don't take this offensively, but...

SHUT

UP!!

I appreciate that you think that I do good work, but I do not want this kind of argument here. If you are the site's top funding source, and not on the funding team, then I know who you are. Whether you are him or not, what you have said here is unacceptable. Maybe Wisemon does have his picture there, and quote rock songs, but those are the things he likes. As individuals, people, and members of the DaD, we all have the right to express ourselves. Please do not go through our community calling people arrogant pricks and causing trouble such as that. If you want to argue or fight with someone or want to put up a rant, you may do so, but you may NOT talk like this.

Taking this further, Guest, whoever you may be, I am typically a nice guy, but I do know your IP address. Should I see something like this ever again, I CAN and WILL exercise my abilities as admin of this site. I CAN and WILL ban you from this board if this continues, and I CAN and MAY ban you from the entire site if it EVER happens again. Flames, especially consistent flames about an actual person, WILL NOT BE ALLOWED OR SEEN ON THIS SITE. PERIOD. And I will leave this topic here so that everyone can see it. Guest, you claim to be the top "funder" for this site. If you choose to withdraw your help, that is up to you. It will be a shame, yes, but we will manage, especially without conversations like this.

As far as what Guest said about my not posting comments, that is in fact true. I haven't been posting comments. When ChibiRenamon handed the site to me, he also handed over like a billion pieces of art and lemons, and a quintagazillion of comments. I'm working on it, lol. In any case, please keep sending in your comments and I'm gonna post them ASAP. Someone else (I think DV85) said that I'm in a tough spot right now. He's right too! When I volunteered to be admin, I was completely free. But now I've suddenly got a whole lot going on! Now that I have a new computer to work with, computer problems shouldn't arise again for awhile. Once I catch up, things should be fine, because things have been getting better and better for me! And thanks, DV85, for defending me. Btw, I'm going to handle your situation in the coming update, if that's okay with you.

Wisemon, you have my apologies. lol I know you're a good guy. :P

On a brighter note, I'm back! I'm checking out the messages and stuff I missed still. What I saw in this particular topic (concerning the author of the month subject) has me completely confused, because everyone's said a bunch of different things! I'd appreciate it if everyone could help me organize everything everyone's said and put it into one summary or idea.

Thanks a lot, everyone! By the way... Guests may ONLY POST IN THIS FORUM IF YOU HAVE A SUGGESTION, NOT TO CRITICIZE ME OR ANYONE ELSE. If you can't say it to the person's face instead of trying to broadcast it all over the forum, don't say it at all.

See ya!

I do so love those brighter notes. They make everything so much more pleasent.

So far, we have come up with two methods of selection. One is a monthly discussion thread, where the board talks about good lemons they've read recently (could boost author ratings), and the other is that you do the first author of the month, coupled by a reveiw, reason for your selection, and then you invite someone you think to be qualified to select the next Author of the Month. This one won't require so many people to read so much, nor post feedback, which could be regarded as less work, or as less supportive of other authors. Or, you could make someone perminantly reveiwer, which would not be so much fun, nor as wide in the way of genre (Wisemon doesn't do Yaoi, for example), tastes, and would rather drab and less exiting.

Welocme back, Mr. Boss Man. Howling at you.

That actually sounds like a really great idea! But I would have to get a list of people who would actually be willing to review, so it would be awhile (depending on how fast everyone replies) before we could start. Anyway, keep posting ideas in the meantime in case something even better comes up.

Howlin' back, Mullen! Wink
