According to my dad, the femur can be at about 90% of what it once was after it breaks due to potentials for torsion during healing (my dad's a doctor).

Ask your dad about which part of the femur was he talking about. I think he's talking about a fracture in the middle third of the femur. Shadowknight broke it close to the knee and had a surgery so he must have some nails or screws or sth like that inside, so you would have to try very hard with a torsion to let out of place sth that was surgically attached.

next time I go in for PT I'll get a pic of the X-Ray and scan it, and no offense to your dad Wise but the doctors I dealt with said I wouldn't even be out of my chair for months and I'm already up on a crutch walking around pretty well.
