The first thing I didnt like about the 5 season is that the head character sory I forgot watshisname fights vith a digimon and actualy wins or is shown as equal
human Vs digimon(Agumon) Id say agumon would rip him to shreds
not to mention fighting a champion level...
that was so dumb...

I wouldn't call the fight with the chicken (Bad with names too) an actual fight, it was more like a hit and run. In a fight with a rookie no powers (Baby flame, seed shot, whatever Gaomon does) a human would stand a chance.

More like "a select few humans" created digimon than the whole race. We do see this in Season 3.

As for Rookie Digimon, I think it is possible they are on even grounds with humans. Some would be easier than others depending upon each's skill and strengths. I do agree that Masaru was like a bug when "facing" Cocktricemon. Do keep in mind on how some bugs can be rather annoying and such.
