To people who write yaoi...

I haven't written a lot yet (only one so far, with another one in the works), but what I find really helps is to come up with a concept FIRST, and then figure out how you develop it, rather than just starting to write out of the blue.

That's the tricky part, but also the most important. If you can't figure out a way for your characters to get together, then your story isn't really going to seem like it goes anywhere.

I came up for the idea for my first one when I was cutting up vegetables at work (pretty random, I think I was cutting cucumbers) and I just ruminated on it, thinking about how I could develop it further. In the end, I think my story ended up being maybe a little too long (it's about 5000 words), but I think it turned out well.

If you're having trouble developing an idea, don't force it to develop. Be patient. It's just like giving birth; the baby comes when it's ready to, and your ideas will come exactly the same way. Just keep your mind open, and eventually a good idea will float in. Just make sure you're paying attention when it happens so you can remember it!

lemon problems? im probably the worst. back then(1999), i didnt know what a lemon was. all i knew, was that i loved to write. i loved to write "stories". these stories were all screwed up versions of movies, series(digimon, etc), cartoons(etc), family movies (like balto, lion king.etc) and even kid shows (Clifford the big red dog). you see, when i was just a seven year old, i watched a movie with ray and monty (my bros) it was a cartoon that my brother ray found lying around, it was the first cartoon porn ive ever seen, in was curious, that night, i learnt that if you "touch" yourself enough, something good happens. (yup, jacking off at the age of 7!) at the age of nineteen, i had no one with me for 4 years, so i started a little story about scooby doo, i found it interesting, and decided make it interesting. now scooby had fucked daphne, and screwed hunter from road rovers (yup, crossover). in the past 6 years, i have written numerous stories, i loved my work, it was what i lived for, i rewrote a lot of stuff, and labelled them as VanCrimsoned. now im pathetic, because... do you remember the 300 page lemon i mentioned a few months back? it was mostly story than sex. i locked it up, unfinished, never to see the light of day again. now, i cant even finsh the one im working on now: Balto:VanCrimsoned. same goes to over 50 of my works. i think im just wasting my time, typing and typing... never finishing... even a short yaoi one about guilmon and flamedramon is hard to finish! i need inspiration, but thats hard to come by these days... if youre me. and trapped somewhere where nothing ever happens.
