"I'm not a soul less, nyah!" a high pitched, cute voice resounded from the check-in area of the academy. "Double check, triple check, onegai!"
Nyu was furious. She hadn't had much experience in contracts, which every demon was supposedly a natural at, but she was fully aware that her clan had provided the exact amount of souls the requisite for student-ship demanded. The nekomata was using her human disguise, so she didn't look at all threatening, and if anything she looked like an adorable schoolgirl when getting mad. The clerk by the desk shook his head no.
"Naniiiiii?!" she questioned angrily, "But honestly, Nyu-chan's family got all the needed souls, honest, nyah!" she bounced in place, banging her fists against the table; she referred to her clan as her family, since her mother and father were not of this world any more.
"Miss, I can't do anything. The amount of souls required for admittance is clear," the massive ogre in business suit said, "So unless you can magically produce a soul out of your bag, I suggest you allow the next entree to... Huh?"
Nyu blinked at the sudden stop. The clerk seemed to be pointing his pen behind her. There was a small, drifting will 'o wisp floating behind Nyu and slowly making away. The cat demon appeared flustered and embarrassed at the same time. She quickly seized the spirit by its 'tail' and then shoved it through the table.
A ding was heard. "You are in."
"Mew..." Nyu sighed in relief that the whole scene was over now. She rubbed her arm a bit and accepted the necessary papers, put them into her bag as instructed and then began moving away with her luggage, doing her best to ignore dozens of annoyed demons behind her in the que poking fun at her clumsiness and lack of control over souls.
She shortly made it to the next stratum of the academy, the so called gathering area for new students. Nyu had never seen so many demons joined in the same area before, so their sheer numbers astonished her at first. Her green cat eyes swiftly scanned the place, her ears picking up voices and sounds from all over, from every corner, aware for any sudden movement. According to what she had heard, she had to wait until the room assignments were announced for her to move in to her new room. Despite her sweet, innocent looks and her cheery front, Nyu wasn't much of a socialite, especially with demons outside her clan. She hoped her roomates wouldn't be too annoying.
OOC: O: Sorry I took this long to post. It's finally a free weekend after a couple of turbulent weeks full of studying and an exam I sadly could not approve. Gonna have to do much better, but for now I'm more or less free.
