Actually, I'm more of a two-weapon-weilding type of Ranger (two hook swords, and a custom-made weapon called a Hammer Chain, which is a chain with sledgehammers at either end), but I did recently get a crossbow from our haul.
As for the brilliant bartering system of 300 Gold for not being shot in a limb... if it was just us two, and not four characters total, I'd wholeheartedly agree.
And yes, Herr Mullen, killing other players is bad... if he didn't almost kill me first, one level ago. Plus... he has been QUITE a dick... making me lose my new thrall (who was supposed to be my "Teacher"... ergo the Ranger Multiclass ^__~)... insulting me infront of the fellow adventurers... and to quote the Webcomic Mindflayed, "Mind Flayers are not known for their amiability." HOWEVER, I think that talking to his brother might be the best first option.
So far, I have to agree with Herr Mullen on this one, so far... but I will hold onto those other options if results aren't as compliant as I'd like for them to be.
