Bah, America has rubbish telly. It reminds me so much of the Melodrama used to keep the masses working in the factories during the Industrial Revolution. Outside of a reality show, when was the last time you saw a poor person on telly? They all tend to be rich people, being either praised or taken the micky out of. Desperate Housewives. The Simple Life. Wife Swap is the closest American telly gets to the poor. By convincing people reality television well help, and can help, people, the company increases their ratings. Also, there is far too much empasis on spending in programmes. Orange County. Desperate Housewives. It's all about money brought in from adverts. Greater empasis on spending, a little deal saying a percentage of the profits from sales and boom, cash.

There are two shows I love from America. Monk, and Scrubs. Scrubs is the best surrealist comedy ever, and the janator is genius. Monk is the best detective ever, but recently they've just been sending him to places. "To New York! To Las Vagas!" To bloody everywhere. If your town is on telly, you'll watch it. The first and second series were classic. This third series is a collection of re-told jokes, and tourism. Also, the handover from Sharona to this new girl (who is actually really, really good) wasn't built up to, and really wasn't done propery. Monk wil never solve the case of his dead wife. It will cost too much.

There is no poverty in American television. No-one starves, no-one is homeless and looked upon with sympathy. If there's a homeless man, he will be there to be made fun of. "Homeless people are crazy. Homeless people think the government is listening to their teeth."

Will and Grace is a collection of sterotype jokes about gays and jews. It don't find it offencive, I find it patronising, dull-witted and boring.

I'm so glad that we have the BBC. Since there are no adverts for anything outside their own network (because we do need to know what's on), there is no focus on money, or spending. Only on quality programming. That's why we can produce brilliance like Doctor Who. So long as they don't just try to use re-done versions of old shows (Strictly Come Dancing) and copycat programmes (Fame Acadamy. I will hurt someone for that travercy.), then we're going to be laughing.
