Nah, as long as you practice clean technique, you should be perfectly healthy well into your later years. I remember when I did a seminar about 6 years ago in taekwondo with the Grand Master of Canada, Chong Soo Lee, and he was in his 60's at the time.
I don't think I've ever seen a healthier person before or since then. He was essentially a ninja. I was amazed...I'm still amazed at how he stepped aside when my brother was about to stumble into him from behind. It was madness. And then he gave him a ridiculously simple tip that improved his technique bigtime.
In short, people who live lives of martial arts are my idols, and I wish I had the discipline and drive to wlak that path myself.
