Well I finally can change my tone on this subject. Well originally I just want to say that going out for certain people that get jobs handed down to them without working for it, I seriously hope that you have to work for that job everyday because behind you are 100 people gunning for the same position as you are. I have been searching for over a year and a couple of months of running in and out of buildings with "Help Wanted" signs to go to a park bench and whip out my resume and fill out my applications as quickly as I can possibly can, and go onto the next block. People said I was "Lazy and Useless." If I was both of what they thought of me, how would I have had the strength to continue everyday and do my fucking best to try and get denied, to only dust my ass off to go try again?
When most people quited, I want on and the worse thing is my parents, brothers, and even his friends never believed me that I did this. I just wanted to prove them wrong and when I did go out all they would ask me is "How did it go?" "Did you get a call yet" "Did you get a call yet?" "Did you even apply?" This is what kills it, they believed that I left for home, but don't believe that I actually went to look into jobs. It was killing me to the point where I wanted to drag all there asses with me to go to NYC and apply the way I did, and if they didn't like it to bad. Instead I had to take in hours, days, weeks, months of the same bull shit. Why must they believe because my family thinks its so easy to get a job and because they did, that it should follow suit? My own Godmother made me feel like crap, and my aunts and uncle basically said I was useless to my face, I could have said something but I bit my own tongue until it had bled my own blood.
I have had tears stream down my face, when I find out that every single instance they had to get in contact with an employer but found out they weren't interested it almost killed my spirit. I didn't stop...heh I am getting slightly choked up right now.
Enough of that, and Well now I have a job working at Target, I'm still in training but its better then nothing. All those that have helped in some way shape or form you have no idea how much thanks I owe you. I don't get many hours yet because I am in training but they have told me that I am one of the best they ever had. I worked the cashier which someone isn't supposed to do first day on the floor but because of my comprehension of most of what is in my area, I am able to help with more efficiency and I have worked in what is there best interest. I am surprised that I had found several others, who are cool enough to even call a friend, and those are an overall specialty member, and the other is my trainer. Me and him get along very well.
I get paid $7.50/hr I'm supposed to get 30-40 hours a week but I am in training which means I have hours which aren't to that. This environment is better then most of my previous job. Just thought everyone should know about things.
My parents and family are treating me alot different, and I have told them, "Wait wasn't I useless just a minute ago?" To there dismay they knew what they have done, and weren't pleased with my answer.
Anyways, I hope things go better for me and I hope it gets better for everyone else as well. ^^
