Yeah for 10 years of Digimon Anime.
Luckily for me, German Dub of the Anime is not based on the crappy US one, otherwise I might have thought of it as yet another Pokecrap.
Great series with great characters, who also develop quite well. As opposed to that other Monster Show, where the Main Character is still some 10-year old moron.
Sure, some Characters, like Izumi, most little kids and Touma are not that great, but hey that kind of character needs to exist aswell. And characters like Taichi, Yoshino, Ruki, Hikari, Masaru etc. make more than up for that.
And there are usually also Digimon with great Characters, like Tailmon, the Tamers Digimon and most of the Savers Digimon ( excluding Gaomon )
The Plot is also usually well developed and thought through.
And with great villians, like Vamdemon, D-Reaper, Kurata, the BioHybrids etc.

And other things that just kinda "pissed" me off...
Yeah, pretty much same here. Until I found Digimon hentai and furry porn, I was just under the thought that "Digimon = Pokemon ripoff", but I didn't like Pokemon much, either. (Didn't play the games, or watch the show. Though I DID when I was younger.) And now, Pokemon is just lame...every episode is almost exactly alike, with those two Team Rocket idiots trying to catch Pikachu in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. Boring.
But yeah, started off with Digimon Adventure 02 and was hooked right away, putting the episodes on my Zune and watching them on the go. (Damn, that stupid Zune had horrid battery life.) And then after that, watching Tamers up to about episode 20-25. Haven't really watched Adventure 01, but I've got all the JP episodes, subbed.
also, have watched Data Squad up to about episode 39. I can say it's better than the other English dubs by a LONGSHOT. No stupid jokes/commentary from the characters, no script cuts, there's actually a plot that's not based off of "Hey I just found out some bad guy is somewhere, let's go beat him!", and best of all, the cuts are minimum. I can understand Studiopolis not wanting to show Marcus getting kicked in the balls, or a giant monster throwing bombs everywhere. At least they changed it to Citrimon, which I found humorous because the guy who voiced Citrimon also does Don Pachi in Bobobo Bobo Bobo, and he's insane. :P
Don't really know what got me into Digimon, but I distinctly remember the first episode that got me watching it: "The Earthquake of MetalGreymon"
I was wanting to record an episode of Power Rangers and accidently recorded the last few minutes of the episode. After seeing it a few times, something clicked and I became rather curious about the show and began watching it. I think what kept me watching it was this quirk I had about myself; if I saw the end or beginning of something, I had to see all of it. And since the producers had the wonderful idea of building up stories, then suddenly going back to the beginning episodes, I was continually hooked.
Well, eventually Digimon Adventure ended and, once again suffering that quirk, when I found out a second season was coming, I simply had to see it through (I have the same problem with games). And of course, as they came out with a new season, the quirk kept coming back, and so here I am today.

To be honest, Digimon Adventure threw me off Digimon completely. It was annoying with very little intense battle scenes.
But, when i got to 13 i got curious of digimon and watched a video of the opening of Digimon 3 on the internet. Oh My God. Seriously cool characters, really cool action and pure awesomeness. The series was action packed, interesting, easy to follow and could be emotional in times.
Unlike Pokemon, it had a rhythmic plot that you could actually follow, the creatures were given more personality then just "pika pi".
Then after seeing renamon catfighting with harpymon, i HAD to google her name alongside "porn".

Way back in the day when I was still way too old to get away watching the -mon shows, FOX would have these little interstitials between segments. I remember one where it had Gabumon and he said, "If I followed you home, would your mom let you keep me?" Thus began my huge crush on Gabumon, which later bled over into crushes on Gomamon and Guilmon.
Also, my love for Digimon/human crossbreeding eventually led me here, where I discovered what furries are...and that I am one. :3
I agree with you on this....so much *blushes red and wiggles my Gabu rump* >>''';;
Episode 7 where he took care of Matt in the cave I cried.....and probably kept me from dying in so many ways...So here is to Digimon that helped me become who I am today...and hehhe <3

I asked a friend about Digimon and he told me about the partners talking and such, and I was a bit agast, being a Pokemon fan. Well, I stopped watching Pokemon and happened to show up at my Dad's house one day when my younger brother was watching a Digimon marathon. It started with the search for the 8th Digidestined and ended with them returning to the Digital world, it was several hours of Digimon fun. I became hooked when I saw the first Mega evos for Agu and Gabu, and then became addicted and followed it religiously through Savers. Tamers was one of my favorite seasons, Savers was one of the best plots once it got rolling. I enjoyed four as well, but it got quite repetative with the two Knights and lack of evolutions. I would probably rank season two above season one, and would be one of the few who would do that. Two just had all the awesome characters of Adventure with all new awesome characters, and TONS of kickass Digimon. I nearly crapped my pants with excitement when the whole Digimon around the world thing went down.
