"Not take us to school?" Slash repeated, "How are they supposed to do any of their homework?"

"Don't worry Slash, once they see that data they'll know we didn't have any other choice." Shadow insisted.

Grave woke up suddenly, and bolted upright. "The precision circumference around the temporal lobe can cause delusions around oneself to create the illusion of travelling five times the speed of light."

With that, Grave went back to his secret slumber.

"Uh- Okay- but- what about her?" Wulvern gestured at Wyvern.

While the medic worked on Pyroman and other Troopers eyed Slash from afar, a single Trooper emerged from the domain portal. He clutched a micro-slate. During the patient drawing of the StoneHead battle, Ausepx had sent one trooper to routinely update Necrophilus activity via written report, in order to prevent surprised once they entered the wasteland. He mimicked the guard outfit hiding his ornate colors of an Errand Watchdog Trooper, moving untouched by curious eyes.

"Necrophilus Data remains conclusive as of thiry minutes ago." The Watchdog reported. "All traces of the Laughing God have not been recognized." He gave Auspex the micro-slate.

The commander read over the findings. 'You mean she's not there?'

"No sir, just not seen."

'So she's there then? Start talking sense.'

"Navis who have entered Necrophilus have mentioned a Hyena attacking strays. Nothing is solid enough to confirm its her."

Auspex frowned. 'It says here that there's been activity nonetheless.'

"Other scouts report data-flawed viruses." The Watchdog pointed to Pyroman. "Possible they will attack unfamiliar Navis."

'Order kill teams from Coer'Di Hwuat to syphon out a pathway. We will proceed through Necrophilus. If it's necessary, they canmark safe paths with burner flares.'

The Watchdog nodded and ran off. When Auspex turned back to Pyroman and Slash, the medics placed the finishing touches on their temporary wounds, readying to rejoin their squads. The Trooper Guard began sifting out from the domain.

'Are you two ready?' Auspex said

Slash looked to a small window that showed Shadow. Shadow nodded slowly and Slash stood up, "Yeah, I'm ready."

PyroMan did the same, yet Mar doubted for a moment.

Something's just not right... he said to himself.

"Mar?" PyroMan said.

The boy nodded.

PyroMan nodded back, then nodded to Auspex.

"You'll have fun with brother later!" she chirped, "Now, onto a romantic place!" Tempest said.

Auspex turned to face the portal. A squad of troopers circled around him and the Navis, forming a ring to protect their esteemed guests, flank protected by two riflemen. He began walking towards the domain gate glancing behind him if the Navis followed suit. They did. Slash and Pyroman strode side by side, wary of the guard around them.

A mic bead intercepted Auspex's thoughts. "Choke point defense awaiting for signal. Confirmation of stand bye."

'Break down all defenses and swap tri-pods for something portable. We have our targets and are coming out.' Auspex beaded back.

"Advised that uneccesary Navis are patrolling the area. Kill teams dispatched."

'Watch yourselves walking out of this gate. My Troopers are mopping up some unwanted guests so we can leave in silence.' Auspex told the two. 'Stay inside the guard detail.'

The group pressed through the domain gate. Auspex heard the shrill scream of Navis echoe somewhere in the industrial compound. Squads of the defensive wall had dispersed throughout the machinery, abandoned the makeshift barricade in front of the gate. To the right, the group caught sight of one squad dragging out a Navi into the open.

Her scales were frosted green in the sunlight. She thrashed against two Troopers, who secured an ankle in both hands, dragging her into the open span butt first. She wore little armor that covered her areas, but what armor remained was ornate and crafted in fine gold. The two Navis watched as the other four Troopers racked their rifles, while the two captors wore out their captive. Safeties clicked. Her body went rigid.

She screamed.

Gunfire drowned her despair in thunderous booms followed by bools of lighting that struck the ground. Thirty seconds into the noise, the Troopers stopped, reloaded, and walked away from a whispy ash cloud.

'Keep going you two.'

"Hold it," Slash demanded as he stopped firm, "What the hell was that!? You're soldiers just killed a Navi!" He shouted.

*Real world*

Shadow watched as a small red dot moving through the internet showed up on his screen, the map around it appearing as Slash walked, "Just as I thought, no communication. But," he pushed a few buttons on his computer and brought up two screens, one showed Slash's face next to an HP bar, the other showed Pyro's next to a smiliar bar, "If anything happens to them we'll know. And these windows will let us know how their doing."

PyroMan suddenly moved fast, in seconds he was in front of the girl-navi who had screamed, he sniffed her for a moment, "HP... critical..." he muttered, "She's not dead, yet."

Mar looked on Shadow, "This is the only thing that'll let us keep up I think. What should we for now? I hate sitting and not doing anything."

Auspex turned to a medic and nodded. The trooper mirrored. He walked towards Pyroman and the brittle Navi underneath him. When the her eyes caught his, he pulled a syringe, and as she looked away, his other fist revealed his Snub Nose. He stopped by her body. Her head tilted to his shadow, eyes searching for a face.

The Snub round pulped through her eye socket. She stiffened. Her data shattered underneath Pyroman, the faint 'Navi Deleted' sound, and then ashes.

'No hitch-hikers.' Auspex told Shadow. 'No curious eyes.'

Further throughout the complex, more engagements began. Squads discovered Navis webbed between the abandoned fuel stores. The sparking battles turned into muffled killing fields, the Navi scourge outnumbered times two, into a teething slaughter.

'For all we know death is tranquility. A scream music for the soul.' Auspex quipped.

He turned to Shadow. 'Come on, Vinitian's a while away.'

- DragonMasterX - 11-03-2006

PyroMan widened his eyes as the girl Navi got deleted, he gasped and fell on his back, "Wh-what?!" he gasped in fear.
