I wish there was a hostile option in World of Warcraft against the people in your alliance like in Diablo 2 Multiplayer.

(Changing realms on the Character Select FTW... I dunno how to swap over characters from different servers)

Granted. Realm is a certain 'realm' in the World of Warcraft, and server is the type of server, such as the European servers, the French servers, etc...
