Come to think of it none of this should really be all that much of a surprise to me. A few years ago when Farscape was still on the air I bought one of the novels (and I use the term very loosely) that came out for it. Everyone was so far out of character and the mechanics of the plot were so bad that I actually had to force myself to finish it.
Why torture myself you ask? Well I paid for the damn thing so if I'm gonna be pissed anyway I might as well be pissed at an entire story.
In any case I've learned my lesson, read at least the first chapter in the store to know weather or not you actually want to take it home.
"Yes Mr. store clerk, I know the store's not a lending library but I'm not a money press either. Besides I'm in here often enough that most of the other employees know me and they'll tell you I spend quite a bit here so why is it bothering you? Oh and if you don't want people to read in the store take out the comfy chairs and the coffee bar. You fucking hypocrite."
...And once again I seem to have gone off on a tangent.
