This is a question that has plagued my mind for a good long while.

I've tried figuring out what death would be like for a human going by my past knowledge of computer data.

From what I understand thinking about past resources I've forgotten the links and references to, data is something that can be written on or over but is impossible to fully erase (unless you smash the computer, carrying the data, repeatedly with a crowbar XD....but in all srsness).

How I remember data works is that you can technically delete the data but the system holding the data (your computer) will always store (what I personally call but can't remember the correct term) "memories" of that data just in case the data needed to be revived for emergency purposes like for example, finding any clues in the scene of police investigation.

Brainstorming on those particular facts, I would guess humans that are turned into data in the digital world can't really die either.

HOWEVER....how they will be revived is a complete and total mystery.

I don't know. What do you guys think?

*ahem*

Depends. Are they truly in the Digital world? If not we can see Case Study F-KK046D. Kouichi Kimura.
As the file shows, he was not truly in the digital world. He was in a coma.
So he could still be revived.

Any other studies are not done as a case like this would be dangerous.

...Unless that new labgirl assistant moved my files. Anyone has anything else to add?
Ken went boom like any other digimon in his "Karma's a Bitch." fantasy during the middle of 02. That count?

When did Ken go boom in 02? Its been a long time since I've watched 02 so I don't remember the specific details shown in the season. Mind saying what episode did you see him die?

Can't really recall. All I remember is him having a creepy fantasy of how every digimon would gang on him for his crimes, tie him to some post and start attacking him until he explodes into data like any other defeated digimon would.
Didn't that one dude from S2 die in the Digital World but was "reborn" or something.
I'm refering to that 40yr old guy with long hair. I forget what the hell his name was.
Yeah, Oikawa died and he broke down into data, which scattered into the Digital World sky (in the form of light butterflies). His data apparently continued to exist in that form (and was seen again in the epilogue), but he was dead as a human and wasn't revived.

Ken's dream was in the second-to-last episode, but it was just a dream and doesn't necessarily mean anything. It was a dream of the Digimon Emperor being executed for his crimes. When the Emperor died, he broke apart into data, but then so did everyone else in the scene.
I figured GLK would have any other info. Thanks.

I can totally see you as Professor Oak's assistant in Pokemon, H

more on topic, From what i gather, data is like Lego. You can build it up in any way, shape or form, but when you erase it, you're left with a pile of bricks.
Now, when humans pass into the Digital world, they themselves become data as well. That is why, i believe, Biomerge Digivolution and the Digivolution from 04 were possible.
So, if they were to be killed, their bodies would vaporize into data. In Oikawa's case, it seems he merely was changed to a more simpler compilation of data as he was not completely destroyed.

One thing still gets me, is how Shibumi managed to get into the Digiworld through sleeping...must be something to do with child-like imagination.

Thats my theory anyway. Do i get a breadstick now?
