I know that hentai and the law, haven't seen eye-to-eye. But then again, the average does have the right to free speech. I do believe in free speech, and all that zest. But when do you think, that hentai actually crosses the line. I'm just asking. I had a debate with some friends of mine at my school regarding hentai.

-When real people think that everything that happens in hentai, like rape, kidnapping, child-molestation and torturing people who don't want it is a-okay, that's when it kinda crosses the line.

Hentai is no different from stories that depict the same things. Only it's art and animated.

It's stupid people who think that these things influence people to do the things depicted in them. All it comes down to in reality is the mind of whom watches/reads/notices these things and believe them to be acceptable in society.

Seriously though, the material doesn't bother me in the least, it's the foolish users...Hentai itself is no different to real life pornography, apart from the fact that it's more open to a greater range of fetishes due to it's abstract nature. I mean, you can see people who copy from pornography such as those stupid "pick up a girl" porn films where a girl is lured back to an apartment by a couple of guys and they have a gang bang.

The bottom line is, you shouldn't punish the material for it being misused by a malicious user. Thats like destroying a forum to remove a troll or demolishing a house to get rid of the cockroaches.

I'm not getting into this again. I hate the issue and all who brought up problems. Mostly because those who did most recent are many, many insulting words. Like the F-word, "Retarded", "Fat", and "Lesbian". Also "English" but I digress.

Keep it in the Artist/Authors/H forums. And groups I guess. But if there's anything really bad and any real porn that is out of line things will not go well for you.

In the United States, obscenity is vague to define in its laws. In Japan, where society is more tolertant and liberal with hentai in general. I don't have a problem with hentai, its just when someone "acts" upon in the real world. Or when someone produces *real* child porn is when is actually crosses the line.

Anyhow, I have seen a few reports as to Hentai, or rather 'Hentai lolicon' and the like, despite it being an anime, cartoon, hand drawn, etc, it is considered in some countries to be as bad as the real stuff and could go to jail for a very long time for it...

I forget where exactly I found the report, but in my opinion it seems silly that someone would go head over heals over a creative drawing, although adult in nature, and go that far with it.

Take this for example. It's a well made statue, one of a kind. BUT it could still be shown as porn as his er... jewels, are out as clear as day. AND PEOPLE COME TO SEE THIS STATUE TOO! -.-'' sorry lol, but still. People admire this statue, people admire Hentai. It's these closed minded ones that makes it harder for the ones who do enjoy it since they don't want to or don't care to understand why hentai exists to begin with.

Another source, look in a high school health book, where they show human anatomy. Or the dictionary under Venus I think it was. There is porn in there! Maybe not hentai, but adult material overall.

Why haven't people said anything about this instead of trying to grind out one of the best anime-genres ever?

Why, then, are sexual depictions so pursued as wrong and morally skewed? Why, religious conservatism, of course!
