Yeah, I own a DA account. Despite the effort I gave in drawing, I have the feeling people seem to pass over me and prefer those who have 100k plus views. Sometimes, others just Fave. By me, it's okay..But there's some who're in my watchlist and long time buddies that once always gave their Comments before faving a Deviation, but now they just Fave and leave.

I am starting to get sick and pissed of DA. Are those only popular will have their way and always get the good stuff there? While those under appreciated despite their best efforts get ignored, or worse, trampled?

I'm sick, sick, SICK! I've had enough! Maybe I should no longer be a total goody good shoes anymore.
Theres alot of people who really have little care for artists, no matter how good the artist is. I understand you feel like you're being cast aside for people who have higher statistics than you, that can hurt.

However, why do you like drawing? That is to say, you must enjoy it yes? else you wouldn't do it in the first place :D
My advice is to care less about the people who either ignore you, or ridicule you for your work and keep it going. The more you proceed, the better your artwork can get and perhaps you can attract alot more people into liking your stuff.

Just bear in mind, unpopularity isn't nessesary a bad thing. I mean look at some of the well known artists that are out there such as Zen, Karabiner or whoever, how many times do you suppose they have to put up with empty pocketed morons who send them messages constantly asking for a free fursona or character picture? Always look on the bright side of life friend, and the bad will blend into the background. Cool
A little of a a little of b. I have a Da and I just submit my artwork not expecting a lot of people to comment on my page. And honestly who cares? If you want more people to comment you have a better shot on a forum than Da. Da is just there to showcase your work and have it as a portfolio for when you need to go back and find all of this artwork you have done and say you dont have it anymore. Well there is your scanned work or saved work.

Its your choice to have all that stuff on your Da and you should not feel "unappreciated." Because first of all its art. A lot go unseen. Some go seen. Its a choice of the viewers not the choice of the Author. Now if you wanna look at it the way you are now then I wouldn't even bother about ranting to much about it good fellow. I'd just say "Ah well." Give it time. If you have then suck it up a bit. Because patience is a virtue.

Sorry if I am not a big help. But I see it like this. If you submit it. That is all you need to do. The rest progresses.
It's just how these online art sites work. If you're not popular, you won't get comments. Example, all the most popular people on FA can post just about anything, and it will always get 200+ comments and 1000+ favorites. It's just the way things work, sadly. =/

And what GMSG said is right, being popular on the internet works like being famous in real life: You've always got a mob of people following you around everywhere, asking for things, asking questions, ect.

But keep in mind, popularity =/= art skill. Some of the most popular people on FA can't draw at all, and don't write very well either.
Try being a Writer. You'll know what true underappreciation is then.
Poor Orson Scott Card, he has to be a college professor to make medium wage.
I have a DA name. I just don't use it for anything but looking around.
But I do keep saying how you are awesome at art.

Even more true. Being a writer really sucks compared to being an artist, because most people have the tl;dr disease. IE, they think like this:

Quote:A picture takes a few seconds to look at, a story takes a long time to read.

So being a writer is a lot worse than being an artist, in terms of popularity.
Thanks for your views guys.

Yeah, I've been keeping this sentiment bottled within myself for some months. It's good to let it out. I admit that sometimes my own pride and ego can get the best of me, and I do my best to be humble and appreciative of other people especially their works for a change.
SnK, if I'm not overstepping my bounds, don't you wish you could rant without being told how misguided your rant is? Personally, when I feel like ranting, (never done it before, so this is hypothetical) I don't want to be told I'm wrong; I want to be told I'm right.
