I do really hate the favortism in HS sports. I do hate when people, praise a QB for being the "star of the team", and not just addressing to the whole team, its just makes the rest of the team all subservient. I do hate, when person just makes themelves "holier than thou" in a team. I have experience this first-hand in my life and I have against the whole idea, of a person making themselves the "whole team", and just ignoring the rest of the team.
It's High School. That's how it is. Let them have it. They may not ever have it again.
Play the best, and you'll be the best, no matter your position. Colleges look for players in every position, as do the pros.
High School is like a 9/11 every day, except we keep throwing more planes into the mix to try and stop the previous from hitting the towers. Once you leave high school (Note I didn't say graduate), go and find something to compensate for the 4 wasted years of your life.
And Unknown is right. A lot of the "cool kids" in high school end up failing in life entirely, due to the fact that the High School crowd (mostly conformist and anti-intelligent) is the only real place these people fit in.

Oh yeah, and I did listen to a monologue from Marilyn Manson about High School bullshit. What he described was pretty spot on. I'll post the video when I can find it.
