Well, to follow up from the last term, I had to deal with TWO teams this term that were even more incompetent than the first. This time, however, their performance actually DID weigh on my overall grade. Plus, I had to deal with them all term.

The first team was for Cinematography class. We were supposed to make an animation with storyboards, a script, and so on. Both my teammates started to flake and would not show up until 3 hours after class started, or they wouldn't do any of the work. One of the other students explained to me that one of them has turned his life to God, which apparently means that he needs to repent during school hours. The other guy is just lazy and hasn't appeared for half of the class meetings. On Saturday, we were supposed to make a presentation, and they didn't appear until I was just about ready to make the presentation by myself, and they went to the stairwell and started playing PSP and texting. When I found them, I almost killed them right then and there, but instead, I just yelled at them for 5 minutes before heading back and doing the presentation on my own.

I still haven't decided which team was worse; the first or second. The second team had four people, including me. They at least showed up to class, but they spent most of the time playing games or going around on Myspace or Facebook. Over time, they demonstrated their ineptitude by being completely incapable of understanding even the most basic instructions and had to constantly be reminded what to do. I ultimately did about 80% of the work for the team, which is going to be pretty much for naught. I got grilled by the administration that "There's no I in team." So basically, anything I do, the entire team gets credit for it, even if only one person did all the work, which is essentially what happened this time.

As I've said before, this industry doesn't allow any room for solo workers, so I have to learn how to work with a team. However, that opportunity is pissed away when I get a lazy or completely incompetent team.
At least you can rest assured that it will be tougher for them to keep a job if they handle work as they handle school.

You can watch people like them come and go as you sit comfortably from a secure job.

What's not so comforting is that in ten years, the job opportunities in entertainment will die out very fast. Start learning how to repair plumbing systems ASAP.
