Even though I am happy I got my drivers license so I can drive anywhere I need to or want to, it leaves me open to have everyone ask me to take them everywhere they need to go. Reason for all the 'free-time' is that I have no job and I'm trying to search STILL. Its nice that the car of mine runs decently, but there are still some problems with it.

Advice, just for those who are working on getting their license and are unemployed, DON'T MENTION IT TO EVERYONE. They will feed of your freedom and make you take them places or run errands for them!

Just a little something... its only been a week since I just got it and I'm in my car more then on my feet.
Use it to your advantage, do errands for money that way you both get something.
Thats why i'm not getting my license straightaway, because people just leech off you.

Or at least make them pay for the gas.
Outside of your parents (who you really should help out if they provide you shelter), it should be easy enough to say "no".

And Parker and Wise have it right, get gas money, and extra if you can. You certainly shouldn't be doing it for free. If you are, and people are abusing your kindness it's because you're tool enough to let them.

If you don't want to run an errand just tell the person no!
My stepdad will take advantage of the fact that I will eventually have a driver's license, and having him as a passenger when he's in asshole mode *Which is to say, nearly all the time*, you'll want to drive right on into opposing traffic. Hell, he already tried to take advantage of me and my checkbook account a few days ago.
