I'm soon to enter the 3rd year in College, and I'm starting to crack down on the bullshit that I have to deal with at home.

My brother isn't doing anything in his life, and to top it off, he constantly interrupts my fucking work to do stuff for him. So far, I've spent more time doing things for him than I have schoolwork, and I can't do it anymore. I need to really pick up the pace in the next year, and that means not dealing with his bullshit.

I'm already being yelled at home because I need to pick up whatever my brother won't do, like feed the dogs, while I'm at school actually trying to get ahead in life.
Yes, give out on your family! Show them who's boss! Your education's important!
Your family should be supporting you, not holding you back. If they're holding you back, don't let them.
Have a sit down, and ask why you're expected to do so much while your brother is expected to do nothing. Give your parents a fair shot at realizing that you're already busting ass, and he keeps his thumb up his.

Then, if the problems persist, throw down.
Ok, after blowing off a little steam, I'm a little more calm and collected now. Now I can elaborate a little further on what is happening.

First off, my college is fucking up big time. They pretty much annihilated the entire game art division, which is what I was going to this god-forsaken school in the first place. My cinematography class started off terribly, as we didn't have a teacher for the first 3 days *1 grand I'll never see again*, and the guy we were given keeps getting on my case, talking constantly about how this is a team effort. For the love of god, I'm working in the damn team! I'm just making sure everyone is on the same level, especially since we're doing a Spy fiction, and my teammates never watched James Bond or Austin Powers. *I even had to teach them what a henchman was (>_<)*

The second big fuck up is the fear tactic the college is using. Basically, we're instilled with fear so we can work harder and not slack off. However, it's starting to backfire, and we're being constantly fed the scare despite anything we do, which ultimately demoralizes us, and it goes into this vicious spiral where we're given shit despite anything we do, and it kills the morale. It's almost like they're using the tactic described in my Yahoo signature.
I'm not sure a school can just eliminate a program if there are active student in it. I don't know where you live off hand, but I would think you could get reimbursement for the money you put into classes for that degree if they are now making it impossible to graduate from.

They pretty much need to let active student graduate and stop letting new students in, then phase out the program when everyone is done. Otherwise I'd expect they'd have a huge legal liability.
Well, the issue comes from the fact that pretty much all the teachers that specialized in the art section have been laid off, and now the classes related to the game art section are slowly being replaced with business management or planning classes, and the classes that DIDN'T get sent to the chopping block are being filled with business management or planning lessons and assignments, and assigning teachers who sit on their ass all day and don't even teach.

And about the liquidation, they still advertise their game art section as one of the main majors students are going there for *it used to be criminal justice*. Now, it just seems like they're doing a lot of bottom line bullcrap.
Quote:Now, it just seems like they're doing a lot of bottom line bullcrap.
I'd call it an early life lesson. Most art majors don't see the bottom line affect them until after they graduate.
Heh. But wow, you have horrible luck and what people have never even at least heard of a henchman. Where do you live?
Sigh.. are you serious? Well, on the family issue yeah, you shouldn't need to be held back by the ones who should be helping you.
