I don't get why it's only 13 episodes. Why can't they put all 48 on 2-4 discs, instead of releasing them in batches? I've got 18 episodes in good quality, and it's only 3.4 GB.
So they can make money. Plus, $20 for 13 eps is cheap, most anime releases at $20 for 4 eps.
and of course, it isn't available in the UK. Sigh...
Are there any DVD extras, like the unedited subbed version for example?
Based on the Amazon.com posting I would have to say, unfortunately, that I doubt it. I would happily pay more than $20 for that kind of extra.
It would be fantastic if they included the Japanese episodes uncut, but I doubt it'll happen.
To be fair, there weren't many edits anyway. And no, Citramo doesn't count as that is awesome and very well done.
Yeah, I watched the English dub up to episode 36 or so, and it's great. There's little to no lame jokes, and barely any editing unless it's "really" bad. (the BomberNanimon thing, Masaru getting kicked in the crotch, ect.) And on top of that, the voices actually FIT the characters. I know, it's a miracle.
And that's why I'm still getting it. I enjoyed what I saw of the dub...though it did cover up the DATS girls fanservice bits!
Really though, it seemed like a decent dub and I want to see how the whole thing pans out...plus the first series of Digimon that has a real shot at completely releasing for us on DVD...I'm obligated!
