The cost of keeping the site afloat has recently been doubled. In a complete dick move by our webmaster, the monthly service fee is $30, due in four days. The site currently has $16 and change to its name. If you want this place to be here this time next month, do something to help.
Take 10 mintues to get a Paypal, set it up with your bank account or credit card, and donate some money. The site needs you.

I'm also making a donation to get us through till the start of the summer. It's too bad it takes a crisis to get people to donate, but better late than never!
Anyway, I e-mailed Keiko to ask him the reason for the rate hike. Here's what he had to say:
"The server that you're on costs me around $150/month to run. Now, you're not the only ones on there, so I don't expect you to pay for that, but your site does use a great deal of the capacity of that server.
In the past, I was prepared to make up the difference out of my own pocket.
I just lost my job, and cannot afford to that anymore, so the money has to come from somewhere...

So there you have it. He got sacked/laid off and was covering half the cost for it. If you had any ire toward him, redirect it elsewhere since he's a nice guy who's done a lot to help us out and just financially can't afford to anymore. Just keeping you guys posted.
Jesus christ, $150 a month? We don't get THAT much traffic, do we?! O_O;
I mean, FurAffinity handles millions of people each day, and that costs around $800 a month to run. 800 รท 5 is 160, so at the same price, we'd have to get 200,000 connections to the site, each day, to constitute that price. And 1,000,000 hits to FA each day is just a guess. Considering how many people are there, and it being one of the main furry sites, it probably gets a lot more.
I need to get a furaffinity account... Anyways, on topic, I at least have an excuse, I'm not old enough. :3
I'd gladly donate each month for the entire DaD bill if I was 18.
