I know there are phones that could have the full song from their music list on their PC and/or anywhere else on the computer. I just want to know if there is a way to do that.

My phone is a Samsung t819 and it does have quite a lot of extra memory.

It has a Music Player for... well music... but I don't really have songs that I could listen to off it.

Is there a program that could shrink down the memory size of my songs from my computer so I could send them to my phone and listen to them there?
Well, first off, how many gigs of memory do you have in the external memory card?

My Motorola Sidekick Slide has a 1gig external memory card. I currently have 112 songs and close to 800 assorted pictures on it.

Second, does your phone have a USB port on it anywhere? Mine uses the USB port as the charger. If it does, keep reading.

Okay, hook up the phone to your computer. The computer should recognize it and ask what you want to do with it. Just open it up for the time being. Drag and drop songs onto that open file, and they'll start downloading to your phone. Disconnect your phone from the computer properly(as in, make sure you stop all operations involving that particular drive, before you disconnect it. If not, it has a nasty tendency to erase data) and viola. Done.

I would suggest getting a good size memory card, too. A 4 gig one only costs like 12 bucks. Some phones have ports to insert your new card in on the outside of the phone, but others, like mine, the memory card port is tucked away between the SIM card and the battery on the inside. Just look around for it. Slide the card in, and poof! More memory than most older computers!

I hope I could be of help with this, so peace.
Actually Cowboy, most phones come with USB cables that plug into the charger socket like my Sony Ericcson K750i
Mine actually has niether. There we some people who asked the same question and were told to find a program that will downsize the memory or the song so they could convert it and then download it to the phone. Course I didn't have a clue how or where to find a program that will do that so I just said screw it.

I'm probably thinking about getting the memory card, but how does it work exactly?

- Does a computer have a port for a phone memory card to put downloadable content onto the phone?

- Do I have to keep the memory card inside the phone at all times if I want to hear or look at all the downloaded content off the card?
Yes, on both questions.

Usually a computer has some sort of port for a larger style memory card, and the little cards used in our phones come with an adapter so that it can slip into the bigger hole.

And yes, you need to keep it in your phone at all times if you want to hear the music. If it isn't connected to the phone, it isn't going to recognize anything.
Alternatively if you don't have an SD reader then you could always buy a blue tooth dongle. Blue tooth the lot of it to your phone and they work on any phone.
