Would you willing to be in the dark for just One hour?
I began turning my room lights off for whole day since the announcement about Earth Hour thingy broadcast in my local radio station.
With a light source come from my LCD monitor, I'm still able to type and post reply in DaD as well as tech forums, watching movies, fapping (oops hehe). I will turn it on when I want to eat.
So, how about you? Can't survive without lights at night?

I survive without lights for about 8 hours EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Is this site for real?

Seriously though I don't see the significance of one hour, considering it gets dark around 8, and I go to bed around 12 or so that's only four hours (6 max) a day I usually even use light, though I suppose with the whole grid going off for an hour it'll do something.
It would make more sense if you didn't use electricity for an hour, but even then, most people don't use electricity when they're asleep.

I tend to not use my lights because my eyes are very sensitive to light. That's why a lot of the pictures you see of me, I'm in the dark.
But really, the CO2 emissions caused by 200 Million 40-watt bulbs in an hour is nothing compared to the CO2 emissions brought about by forest fires, volcanoes, and Hollywood. Hell, you emit CO2 when you BREATHE!
We do need Carbon Dioxide in our atmosphere in order to retain the heat from the sun and possibly protect us from radiation, but like everything else in the universe, too much of it, yes, can be a bad thing.
I do believe in finding ways to make more efficient machinery in every aspect, but I'm not particularly fond of the green movement. To be carbon neutral, you'd have to offset your carbon emissions by basically paying money to an organization to buy carbon credits *The explanation of which sounds more like an Indulgence*, and if you really want to go the distance, you'd probably be giving them a nickel for each breath you take. According to Wikipedia, carbon credits is for international trade, but they aren't worth shit in the New York Stock Exchange.

Whoa, didn't know Wise could possess people. Wonder what other tricks he has up his sleeve. I suggest getting those flourescent bulbs or whatever, you turn them on and by the time they get bright enough to do anything it's too late and you have to turn them off. After a week you'll get so sick of it you'll just say screw it and live in the dark.
I'm an unwilling participant in this. I originally planned to dissent and turn every single light on on the property(including flashlights, car headlights, etc.).
Then they cut my power off.
Oh well. Try living without electricity. It isn't so bad, when it's nice out. Waking up to the birds chriping was kind of peaceful, this morning. But the almost dead battery on my phone here, is aggrivating.
Yes, living without lights and power, isn't all that bad. Though, it gets kind of annoying and bothersome, after a couple of days. :s I should know. Our subdivision, where I live, has lost power for days on end, for various reasons, over the past several years.
Well not many people do leave their lights on at night, i leave a few sockets switched on but that's mainly because one controls the power to the TV cable, which i won't turn off because people need not lean over my computer to switch it back on. I have another that controls my alarm clock, so that must stay on too.

Strange, i always thought CO2 was plant air and Ozone was the protection. CO2 turns Ozone back into Oxygen, and we get cosmic rays shooting in at us.
I turn my lights off and unplug my appliances when they aren't in use, but I do it for my own benefit, not the earth's (just goes to show you that rational selfishness does benefit others). And I'll continue to do it so long as it benefits me.
