This isn't really anything bad but just a bummer for me.

My girlfriend was talking about how she wants a hobby, drawing, painting, or learning guitar were her choices. So I looked into guitars, talked to my buddy's girl who works at an instrument shop, and became set on getting her a guitar. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't gonna sink an assload of money into something she wasn't really interested in. So I gauged her interest by letting her know when I saw guitars on sale, and she was interested.

So the bummer part is that we were talking about Christmas, I said I think I knew what I was gonna get her, and after a short Q&A of her trying to find out she asks "Is it a guitar?" I couldn't keep a straight face and now feel disappointed because it was gonna be a good suprise. I do however know now that she is interested, and excited to learn. I also suppose it will be better for her to pick out a guitar that feels good to her. I'm just bummed because it would have been so cool to spring it on her!

So make me feel better any guitar players out there, is it good that she will be able to pick out a guitar that feels good to her as opposed to me just picking one out for her?
Don't worry about it. The surprise will come when she finds a guy who can teach her to play the guitar, and she dumps you for him.
The guitar is a deilcate instrument, exept for mine which I have bashed over 3 heads and fell on twelve times. So making sure it feels good to play is very necisay for learning any instrument.

HA! This is why you're my friend. One reason at least. I don't know much about guitars but hopefully she'll be ok. And not just being only able to play Stairway.

Okay, but I'm just saying; most girls have a thing for guys who play instruments, even if they're complete assholes otherwise.

I'm fortunate enough that my girl isn't most girls. In fact, before she dated me, she had a musician guy after her at her school. He apparently played songs for her and all...didn't do it for her apparently. In my head I think poor guy, but also lucky me. She was at school with him for four months while we were apart, if it didn't do it for her for four months, I think I'm fairly safe...never say never though and if it happens you'll know first Wise...and I'll have to post another "Poor me" dating rant that I was so good at in the past.

Hey, at least you can post a "poor me" dating rant. Mine are either "why are so many girls copies of each others' personalities?" or "why do girls stop liking me after I start talking with them?"
At least you people can get dates... In my school I'm the msatest, kindess, biggest, fastest, tallest, and from what I've seen in the changerooms the longest. I still cant get a damn date though. I'm also poetic and a musician. DON'T you DARE say anything like "Must be a small variety".
