We're a few years into using Windows Vista. Who is on the side of Vista, who is on the side of XP, and which heretics have defected to Mac? *Cocks rifle*
XP. Heck even Microsoft admitted Vista failed. I'd give you a link but I can't find it, it's somewhere in an msn article about Gates retiring.
Hey, now. I liked Vista when I had it. It was one of the best OSs I've ever used.
They spent to much time making Vista flashy to combat Macs flashiness rather than making it work.
POOP!! I clicked XP when I meant Vista! Vistas automatically defragment your PC or something, I heard.
I like XP. Ever since I got my new PC it's been all a smooth ride and never had any sort of issue. Seriously, Windows XP is amazing. Haven't tried either Mac or Vista, so I can't opine on them, yet, I wub the current OS I have.
I've tried both and frankly the biggest thing that put me off was the way you navigated folders in XP. Also the run in administrive rights, even when you are signed in as administrator.
XP because i have it already...but because a lot of programs out there don't support vista.
I use Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.x) most of the time, but I've also got Windows XP Professional installed on a partition of my HD, for programs that require XP.

WOO! I'M A HERETIC!!!!
I had Windows Vista Home Basic on my laptop, and it ran like a champ.

And, yes, it does self-defrag. My laptop did so every morning at 3, when most users would be asleep.

And even while it was defragging, it still worked well. I could still do everything I normally did on it, without fear of it lagging like a tank.
