I went to watch it when it came out yestarday... I was horribly dissapointed though thrilled that a movie came out.

The acting is either overwhelming or under developed.

The ... CG animation or whatever its called to make the dragon is amazing and its so cute! if anything at all watch it for the dragon ><

There are little actiony scenes and like other reviewers said its like a rip-off of lord of the rings movie.

Like all book based movies most of the important stuff is cut out and its dreadful to anyone who has already read it. If you haven't read it then i guess its an ok movie *shrugs*

I give it a 7 out of 10
I hope to watch it when it comes here. I really want to see this movie, I've heard so much from it and seen nothing of it. Blame my laziness.
I'm going to watch it as well. And dang. This makes me wish AGAIN that I could bring DMX over here to Wales XD

But, yeah, Gabumonfurry. Most movies coming from books do cut out a lot, it's the disaster they can't stop from happening - it'd just be way too long if they had everything from the book in it.
I saw it yesterday was well and I can honestly say I was impressed. Sure it wasn't perfect but I was suprised. There were a lot of good points and bad. The acting was good and the Coumputer animation was amazing!

Granted it was no where near the book, I was impressed at the whole thing.a Although I was dissappointed at first due to the lack of certain parts of the book, I realized how well it was done in the end.

I recommend this movie to anyone:

8/10
Actually, it was rubbish.

The lead actor is the same guy from the black hole of crapiness that was Stormbraker, and he still hasn't coordinated his hair and eyebrows. The villians had great actors, but quite frankly the writing screwed everyone over and I can't see why they agreed to the parts. The names were awful: D'alak T'uin and what-not. I only know one name from the film, and that's the tiitle character's. Oh, and Sophia's because her's is vaguely sencible. I daresay it might be a good book, however this film is not great for anyone who likes a plot that is entirely linier. In other news, I did like watching a topless blonde in leather trousers. If you want too see it, my suggestion is just curl up with some TK/Veemon couplings or something, because you could spend the time you're in the cinema doing something else, like watching a funny, intelligent, or exciting film.
Are you sure you saw the right movie?

The lead actor, Ed Speelers, hasn't acted before in his life and who is Sophia?
If he isn't the same guy from Stormbraker, then he looks awfully simmiler.

And, evidently, I apparently only know the title character's name, because I was sure the dragon was called Sophia.

Also, if it was his first time acting, then he did alright, although I'll forever be puzzled as to why he got the job.
Yes it is his first time acting, and he could have been worse haha. The dragon was Saphira not Sophia :-p To each their own I suppose.
Well it came in second at the US box office this weekend. I didn't see it, but most of my friends are saying it is pretty bad. The reviews aren't great either, of course then again their reasoning seemed to be it was Star Wars/Lord of the Rings ripoff.

I still have to say they could have done a bit better with the cast and their choice for director, but hey what can you do.
True. But nothing in Literature is original. Period. Besides, you can't be too hard on it because the writer, Christopher Paolini, had no input on the movie itself, so it was bound to suck. So I looked at it as another movie, if you are going to criticize it by comparing it to the book, then you aren't really beaing open to other's interpretations are you? :)
