Quote:Besides, we were doing fine in Vietnam. It's just that the rest of the hippy-shit populace pussied out and started crying for an end to the war. Had they given us another 5 years, we would've won. All we needed was time to reinforce South Vietnam, just like we need to do in Iraq (mind you, that's going to take a LOT longer. Every terrorist in the world wants to go their and blow themselves up in markets crowded with laughing little children in the name of their imaginary friend).
We couldn't win in Vietnam. In Vietnam, we were seen as invaders, and nobody really wanted us there. In Iraq, on the other hand, we were greeted as liberators, and that's why we should have Iraq all wrapped up in a few months.
Guilmon and a shotgun!!! Wrote:So you're saying war is good? It's good to see people die for what their leader thinks? Maybe the over-patriotism of America is what's making terrorists do that....did you ever think of that Ghost_Op?

If political views were drinks, this one would be water. 3/4 of the world is covered by it.

No, I'm saying that people have a right to fight for something that they believe in; now-a-days, we aren't drafted, so you only join the fight if you want to, not if the president wants to.

Over-patriotism would be openly declaring that America is better than every other country. Ever. Sure, America may be arrogant a lot of the time, but we try not to be complete pompous assholes.

I agree with what Wise said a couple threads ago; terrorists hate America because if they didn't have a target for their violence and anger, their system would fall apart. Hezbollah was an example of a 'good' terrorist organization; they kept their generically evil activities to a minimum and greatly helped the Lebanese people. Al-Qeuda (?), though, is a corrupt organization politically and relies on its wars over their made-up imaginary friend Allah to keep support rallied to them. If they were peaceful, nobody would take their shit.
These were fun to read. Keep going, I might jump in.
you just did! lol

anyway this is just one of the many ethical issues of life....why waste time on questions we can't even answer?this is just a few points under questioning the existence of god
You know why we try to answer these? Why not?
because youre wasting valuble time trying to answer what cannot be answered easily! but then again its your life so yeh

Our perspectives are about as informed as the perspectives of those who are making the big decisions on these issues.

You obviously don't know how the human mind works.
Inquisitive nature, maybe? Oh, and I doubt looking answers to the mysteries of science, which isn't easy and takes time to answer, to develop technology as scientists and researchers have been doing throughout the years is losing valuable time.
